About this listen

Cassandra Khaw's Nothing But Blackened Teeth is a gorgeously creepy haunted house tale, steeped in Japanese folklore and full of devastating twists.

A Heian-era mansion stands abandoned, its foundations resting on the bones of a bride and its walls packed with the remains of the girls sacrificed to keep her company.

It’s the perfect venue for a group of thrill-seeking friends, brought back together to celebrate a wedding.

A night of food, drinks, and games quickly spirals into a nightmare as secrets get dragged out and relationships are tested.

But the house has secrets too. Lurking in the shadows is the ghost bride with a black smile and a hungry heart.

And she gets lonely down there in the dirt.

Effortlessly turning the classic haunted house story on its head, Nothing but Blackened Teeth is a sharp and devastating exploration of grief, the parasitic nature of relationships, and the consequences of our actions.

Struggled to finish the audiobook... it was boring and in the end sort of gross rather than horror...

Meh..

The reader was very good and the voice changes made it interesting. The book itself is awful. Really hard to follow.

Reading was great, book mediocre

Just great don't hesitate. I will say only that and Listen in the dark with a candle-lit yikes. It was great I have listened to it with others by candlelight they don't want to go to the bathroom alone even. and it doesn't overstay its welcome either. Enjoy

Fantastically Creepy

Author spent a lot of time on describing the characters more than fleshing them out. I rolled my eyes at the 10th time they described the white boy’s golden hair or rippling football physique. The ending wrapped up faster than a high school dance and had way to many loopholes. Felt like the author was trying to get their revenge on some high school bullies by writing a death story about them.

Narrator was good sadly story was lacking

so many pretty words yet nothing of value was said, this book loves to seem sophisticated but it as sophisticated as a high school paper trying to get to the minimum word count

great voice shitty book

The almost 3 hours of writing led to not much of anything. The authors overly pretentious vocabulary is forgivable if she had actually written something of worth. The 3 hours was a lot of repeated information with no valuable consequence.
