Publisher's Summary

It's real. All of it. A realm of blasters, spaceships, and magic. A universe where people really can increase in skill and power, becoming so much more than they once were.

All it takes is the locked potential of every foe you slay, their stories becoming your own.

Yet there is horror as well as wonder in this magical realm, and when Val locks gazes with a beautiful girl moments away from death, he comes face-to-face with a lost tribe of people long thought extinct. Just a handful of survivors, and thousands more trapped in deepest slumber, only hours away from death.

Even as Val embraces the most perilous and noble task of his life, an entire dreadnought filled with enemy soldiers readies itself for the next step in their campaign of conquest, and Earth is the prize they will claim.

To bad they didn't see Val coming. No one ever does.

characters don't make sense.

this is just my personal opinion. first off the main character is supposed to be an honorable guy. he basically bails on the girl he loves originally, hooks up with another, claims to love her or is starting to. then cheats on her with the lady who abducted his friends and his first true love right in front of that first love. like it makes no damn sense. this dude is not my idea of a deserving fellow. it's like this story is about some sensual drama and a guy who can't keep his unit in his pants. that isn't the only character who makes no sense. like the girl he meets when he first awakens in the new world. she's a strong character, then it makes it out that the main character is even stronger. later she's basically beats him senseless with out even trying. which from earthling weak brains or w/e half way makes sense. then they get captured and she's pathetically weak all of a sudden. this is a really short version of my opinion of the characters. basically I respected the characters in the first book. now I can't stand the main character or one of the other sub-main characters.

nothing is perfect so it only gets four stars. where are the rest of the books in the series however. I have credits to spend and no books to spend them on. get with it audible. this ain't the way you make money.

Awesome!!!!

I have read all 3 entries of the series and they were amazing!! This series has jumped to my top 3 In the LitRPG genre!! The character is a wounded vet who finds himself fighting for his life all of a sudden in the real world and what he thought was a game world. The main character is kinda OP but in the good way where he is under dog until he gets pushed over the edge. The overall arc and complexity of the story as well as the writing style are great, breath of fresh air after reading some mediocre books. Narration is great and the secondary characters and villains give this series so many cool places to go. I loved every entry and can not wait for book 4 already!! Trust me if you like this genre this book will keep you on the edge of your seat as the pages fly by!!

very well done

fantastic game lit with well-written characters in a fairly unique setting.. the narrator also does a fantastic job and I am looking forward to the next book in the series. if you like litrpg and gamelit you won't be disappointed. Even if you're not a fan of those genres the story is good enough for you to ignore the game mechanics.
