Publisher's Summary

One Tier-1 Naval Special Warfare Operator, trained at the highest levels of any military, with 20-plus years of operational experience. One ex-cop civilian survivalist, who lived through two years of post-apocalyptic hell, unlike seven billion of her fellow humans. And an entire continent heaving with 400 million dead guys.

To save the lives of his children, and rejoin Alpha team and the fight to save humanity, Homer will have to journey across a thousand miles of undead North America with Sarah Cameron, battling heavily armed bands of marauders who shoot first and ask questions never, and ultimately face down the remains of the world's last surviving SEAL team - now led by a malevolent and piratical monster.

A great stand alone in a great series

A well done piece of back story that builds on already great characters! Looking forward to more!

Fuchs and Bray have done it again!

I would give this entire series 10 stars if I could.
My only critique is that it ends, as I could truly listen to this series nonstop for hours, days, years to come, and still want more. Bravo, Mr. Fuchs!

Homer’s odyssey revealed!!

I’m so happy to have this portion cleared up and to hear it blend seamlessly with the other pov.
Was it a good story? If you’ve read/listened to ANY of the others then that is the silliest question! It was as great as ever and of course R C Bray continues to excel in bringing a great story to life...in fact I think he adds to them.
If you’ve never read these books then sure you could read this as a stand-alone but why would you? Go to the beginning and immerse yourself in what is by far the best military zombie apocalyptic series (my son is part of one of the mentioned groups...can’t say which, and due to opsec he couldn’t tell me specifics but did confirm everything about the way the operators spoke, reacted, and behaved was on point so kudos to Fuchs and his research...this book is being passed around among sf groups!)

Love this series!!!

Amazon series of books and struggle to wait for the next! Story is amazing!!! One minor issue "I thought Homer was a black man? Why does it read this book as if he's white? I have no issues with all the white heros and frankly, have love for all of them but, dang! Only have two black heros on the true squad and now it seems as if you've done away with the original Homer... Love this series but that kinda hurt me!😥
