À propos de cet audio

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

Life is messy for each of us. But Jen Hatmaker reminds us that it's okay to admit that we're all in the same boat. Join New York Times bestselling author and honorary big sister Jen as she shares hilarious tales, shameless honesty, and unconditional hope for the woman who's forgotten her moxie.

We will endure discouragement, heartbreak, failure, and suffering. All of us. And more than once. But we are the very same folks who can experience triumph, perseverance, joy, and rebirth. More than once. And in more than one category. And in more than one season. And that? That's moxie.

Moxie reaches for laughter, for courage, for the deep and important truth that women are capable of weathering the storm. We are not victims, we are not weak, we are not a sad, defeated group of sob sisters. Yes, life is hard, but we are incredibly resilient.

Of Mess and Moxie shines a light on Jen's own triumphs and tragedies into a sigh of relief for all normal, fierce women everywhere. Whether it's the time she drove to the wrong city for a fourth-grade field trip or the way she learned to truly forgive, she offers a reminder to those of us who sometimes hide in the car eating crackers that we do actually have the moxie to get back up and face our messes head-on. After all, this race is not a contest--there's enough abundance to go around.

This book will give you the encouragement you need to remember that:

  • Your mess is normal
  • You are not in competition with your peers--your seat at the table is secure
  • You have incredible gifts to offer

Come alongside Jen as she teaches us that we can all choose to live undaunted and in the moment, no matter what the moments hold, and we really can lead vibrant, courageous, grace-filled lives.

I loved that Jen (the author) read the book - it provided a raw, honest interpretation of the content.
This book is an encouraging, uplifting, honest look at a woman's life - specifically a woman who has birthed a child and lived a few seasons. I would recommend this book as a gift, a personal read, and one to be revisited. It is definitely "for the ladies", and for a woman with a sense of humour, or at least appreciates a humorous approach to real life.

Honest, fresh writing.

This book is my first really heartfelt invitation to understand and be welcomed into Christianity. Jen weaves a tale full of wisdom, laughter, tenderness, and empathy.

I loved every minute of this audio and couldn’t stop! I needed all these words of encouragement and laughter because mom life is messy and beautiful and lonely and lovely. So thank you....thank you for it all!

I laughed out loud. I shed real tears. I pondered deep thoughts. I needed her genuine wisdom on life and parenthood and struggle and chaos... and I think I maybe learned to take life a little less serious. It validated in me the parts of my own life and parenthood adventure that I thought I may be doing right and offered so much encouragement for those areas that feel impossibly hard. Thank You Jen.

LOVED IT. Thank You Jen.

This was a laugh out loud and deep book. I also grew up reading Erma Bombeck (and Dave Barry) and love Jen’s use of humour to communicate relatable truths and inspiration.

Not too often that I read a book and relate so closely that I laugh out loud! This book is delightful, sweet, funny and practical. Not in a religious way because we all know that we need less religion and much more pure love in reality. Thanks Jen Hatmaker for being you, and for making your thoughts known. Michele

I don’t have children so a number of chapters were less applicable to me, but that said, I still really enjoyed the funny stories, the emotion and the description of the relationship with her own parents. I’m glad I stuck through to the end (despite not identifying with all the mom stuff) because overall this is a really valuable and touching read. Definitely recommend.

Geared towards moms but still good
