Publisher's Summary
Emma has just learned that her mother is a long-lost Poseidon princess and now struggles with an identity crisis. As a half-breed, she’s a freak in the human world and an abomination in the Syrena realm. Syrena law states that all half-breeds should be put to death.
As if that’s not bad enough, her mother’s reappearance in the Syrena world turns the two kingdoms - Poseidon and Triton - against one another. That leaves Emma with a decision to make: Should she comply with Galen’s request to keep herself safe and just hope for the best? Or should she risk it all and reveal herself - and her gift - to save a people she’s never known?
Once again, Anna Banks infuses Emma and Galen’s points of view with humor, intrigue, and waves of romance.

classic story line, well written
love the story since I'm into fantasy. the comedic relief is relatable which makes you laugh. predictable but captivating enough to hear the rest. the characters have a lot of wit so i love that, haha!

Air headed heroine-spoilers
I stopped on chapter 2. I managed to get through the first book even though Emma was an idiot, I still wanted to see what happened next. Then, I hit a brick wall per se. The whole first book is about Galen trying to do the right thing by the Syrena by mating Emma to Grom. Book 2 second chapter or so Emma gets kidnapped by her mom and realizes her mom thinks Grom is dead. Instead of Emma convincing her mom otherwise she begins to doubt that Grom is really alive herself because Galen has lied to her in the past! (when?) They resolved everything! Now her mom kidnapped her rather than verifying if the "supposed" love of her life is really alive. If there was a chance that the LOVE of your life was alive, because there is absolutely NO reason for them to lie about it, DON'T you think you would stick around to find out!! It makes no sense and the characters, at least the females, are too stupid for me to continue. Disappointed.

Fluffy
Much like the first book this was a light and fluffy beach read. I enjoyed the story and it did have some funny parts, but overall it was just ok. I only purchased this book because the first one had a cliffhanger ending. (annoying) Thankfully this book wraps up the story nicely and I felt it came to a satisfying conclusion. Even though there is a third book, I didn’t feel compelled to purchase it. Definitely not what the publishers want but I was happy as a listener.

Part 2
Definitely a lot more story to go on. Poseidon was good but Triton brought a different air of drama that, without dropping spoilers, I will simply say made it a great read! Also i love how Banks rounded up the story arc and left room for something different in book 3!

The characters were working my nerves
I really don't have time for characters who are stubborn and hard headed to the point that they are making life more difficult for everyone around them. Especially when they don't have really any concrete reason to be so resistant. It is a weak plot device and poor, frustrating writing. In the first book I could agree with the main characters stubbornness, distrust, and refusal to follow the male leads orders because he was withholding information and they'd just met, but at this point all of the distrust and stubbornness is really happening just to make the story longer. Lazy, frustrating writing that almost kept me from finishing this book which is otherwise really good.

Teenage Angst To Spare
I'm an adult & this is just too much teenage angst for me! General story plot is good, so I read this book (#2 in the series) after reading the first one. But got tired of the continuing whining & constant lack of confidence on the part of the main female character that was also in the first book in the series.

Did it have to be that way?
Tgis was a re-read for me Md I remeber why I was only so so about this book. Ues things get resolved, but I still feel like (SPOILER) the one really sad thing at the end was totally and utterly superfluous.
I am just so so about the story. The narration was done very well.

mermaid adventures
this is a fun typical YA fantasy drama, full of adventures, suspense, and romance. I read these when they first came out and now I'm listening to them for the first time.
great for 14-25 age range especially! exciting, no open door scenes or anything too spicy, good and fast paced.

Satisfying performance and book.
Definitely more targeted towards the romantic teen out there. Over all it was a good story that I enjoyed listening to. Thank you!
