Page turner - I listened to it all in one day!

Our Hero, Jack Roberts; the hero of Rorke's Drift, goes back to Egypt and participates in most of the British led battles in Egypt and the Sudan of the late 19th century culminating in the Battle of Omdurman. Jack is attached to various forms of scouts preceding these battles; often under the indirect supervision of Major-General Herbert Kitchener. The book is full of exciting adventures and narrow escapes. The book pays a lot of attention to his son Griff. The book ends with the tantalizing possibility that Griff ends up in the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and we see another book in the series. Enjoyed every minute of this novel.
