Oh so good! Good plot. Good characters and nicely written. An easy read but interesting
L A lady cop returns to her small town and her loving family. She was a good cop in LA and remains a cop in the small town. The new Chief of police is a good cop also and the two of them must find out what/who caused the death of two high school boys. I am going to listen to the next in the series right now.

Pretty good thriller
Kendra Elliot is on of the authors of suspense novels I read to fill in time between novels I'm really looking forward to. Until the new David Baldacci novel is released next Tuesday all I have is either time fillers or authors I am unsure of. I have eight Kendra Eliot novels in my Audible library and they rarely disappoint. Like all of her novels this one is set in Oregon. The local sheriff dies of a heart attack and one of his daughters who is a detective in Los Angeles returns home to be with family (mother, 2 adult brothers, an adult sister and some nieces and nephews). She joins the sheriff's department and soon after goes about solving a murder of a teenager. Of course she also falls in love with the new sheriff. It's a nice action/suspense novel. Kate Rudd narrates wonderfully well.

Great new series!
This book had me from page 1! LAPD officer returns home to join the police force where her deceased father was the chief. Her job is to track down the dealer responsible for a new drug that’s killing teens. Throw in a possible love interest and you have a captivating story. Looking forward to the next book.

Docked a star because I don’t like incomplete endings and cliffhangers
A longish short story featuring Stevie Taylor, ex-LAPD cop, and her new boss, Sheriff Zane Duncan of Solitude, Oregon. Stevie is welcomed to her hometown police force by the mysterious death of a high school football player. Kendra Elliot’s books almost always has an instant romance, but happily, no full frontal instant-sex. This book is freighted with backstory about Stevie and her large family, and subplots involve family members, including her father, who died recently. I was expecting a short story, not a series. Because the ending is incomplete—with a thick loose thread or three—I docked a star. I listened to the Audible version, because Kate Rudd, one of my favorite narrators, voiced this book. I enjoyed her brilliant voice acting! Brava, Kate Rudd!

On Her Father's Grave
Stevie Taylor returns home from LAPD to work for the Solitude PD after her father, the Chief of Police has a fatal heart attack. This is the start of a series written by two authors. This one has teens dropping dead suddenly for no apparent reason and by the end we find out there is a new strain of drugs running rampant through the area. Did they find the source or will it lead back to the former Chief's heart attack? I am going to keep up with this series.
