Publisher's Summary

Basically, I died

My name is Storm Redfield: Navy Commander, Special Forces.

Born on Earth in the year 2057, I don't belong in the twenty-third century. Nevertheless, that's where I end up following the worst betrayal of all by my own people. During my time asleep, humanity has become a spacefaring civilization. We are no longer alone in the universe, and the galaxy is at peace . . . more or less. Now, I have a choice to make.

Call it a day after a traumatic rebirth, and spend the rest of my life on a Martian beach, sipping margaritas? Or grab myself a weapon, and go kick ass with the civilian outfit that brought me back? Good question, easy answer: with a name like mine . . .

Sheltering from the squalls of life is no option.

Bleh

From the sample, I was intrigued enough to buy the book. I just couldn't get past the 1st hour and would have returned it if possible.

Fun Lesbian Romp in a Sci-Fi Future

Okay, so I wasn't expecting much with this one. As former military with a background in all things science and intelligence, I figured it'd be mediocre. It was actually a ton of fun. There were some editorial inconsistencies in the story early on, but that seemed to settle itself out. But it was the characters that drew me in. It's always the characters for me, if I'm honest.

Storm Redfield is a badass woman with an axe to grind. Stella, I've decided is my spirit animal, and I'm totally in love with her. I have been since she first appeared in the book. Frankly, I loved it from start to finish. The story is good, the series is fun, and I've listened to it four or five times now.

Surprisingly Good

Good story. The plot is solid and it left me wanting more. I love sci-fi, but it’s usually male lead dominated. This is a breath of fresh air.

Outta this world

I have been a fan of this series since reading on kindle and thought it was awesome. The characters are well developed and come across as fully developed people. Red and Sanchez dealing with this new world that they are thrusted into comes across as genuine and avoids tropes and waisting time with denial. The give and take between Red and Stella has it moments of fun and seriousness in equal measure. Abby Craden's voice adds the depth and emotion to this story that it deserves and makes it memorable. I cant wait for the next installment
