INSTANT #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

The former attorney general provides a candid account of his historic tenures serving two vastly different presidents, George H.W. Bush and Donald J. Trump.

William Barr’s first tenure as attorney general under President George H.W. Bush was largely the result of chance, while his second tenure under President Donald Trump a deliberate and difficult choice. In this candid memoir, Barr takes listeners behind the scenes during seminal moments of the 1990s, from the LA riots to Pan Am 103 and Iran Contra. Thirty years later, Barr faced an unrelenting barrage of issues, such as Russiagate, the COVID outbreak, civil unrest, the impeachments, and the 2020 election fallout. One Damn Thing After Another is vivid, forthright, and essential not only to understanding the Bush and Trump legacies, but also how both men viewed power and justice at critical junctures of their presidencies.

When I first started listening to this book, I didn't expect the narrator to sound so much like Bill Barr. But, as the story wound its way through his early life, marriage, various legal positions to where he landed Presient Bush, then with President Trump, the narrator sounded so much like him, I found myself "seeing" Bill Barr actually writing it.
An insightful thought-provoking look at the life of a legal mind, one who had to oversee some of the most difficult times and decisions in America. Being an Attorney General for The United States is a very tough job! Staying focused and still being able to lead a "normal" life ..... well done!

Narrator sounds just like Barr!

This is a worthy listen or read. It is a testament to how imperfect and flawed people can still achieve extraordinary things during tumultuous times. I think its a fair and balanced view of Trumps time complete with admiration and disdain, representing one persons viewpoint from a unique perch. While I did find myself disagreeing with some of the premises of his arguments, I still appreciated seeing things through his eyes to understand the justifications to what went on during this time. This is a perspective you are unlikely to hear on either side of political spectrum in either the left or right media outlets. It's refreshing to hear a perspective that is closer to reality rather than the political narrative of the day.

A refreshing prospective of the Trump White house and progressive left in these polarizing times.

This is a waste of time. All he does it pump himself and Trump up. Some of the things he says are not true as well. Another griff from the Trump team.
