Publisher's Summary
The New York Times best-selling author checks in to the hotel of readers' dreams for an ardent romantic adventure that lasts just One Night.
For one night a couple checks in to an upscale hotel. The pair seem unlikely companions, from opposing strata of society, but their attraction is palpable to all who observe them - or overhear their cries of passion. In the course of 12 hours, con games, erotic interludes, jealousy, violence, and murder swirl around them. Will they part ways in bliss, in sorrow, or in death?
Filled with all the hallmarks of an Eric Jerome Dickey best seller - erotic situations, edge-of-your-seat twists and turns, and fun, believable relationships - One Night will delight Dickey's existing fans and lure countless new ones.
What the critics say
"Must-read romance.... A cerebral, sometimes sensual, sometimes suspenseful, and quite a memorable ride." (USAToday.com's Happy Ever After)
"Best-selling author Eric Jerome Dickey's work is known for its erotic situations, edge-of-your-seat twists, and relatable relationships.... The writer delivers all that and more in his latest novel. It's likely that after reading this romantic adventure, you'll see the one-night stand in a whole new light." (BET.com)
"If I wore a hat, I would take it off for Eric Jerome Dickey.... Dickey ratchets up the plot in ways that are both risqué and rewarding. He uses the power of dialogue to give us greater shades of a character's motivation." (Essence)

Waited too long for this mess
Eric's style of writing has changed. The story is just not believable. I have always supported all of the books written by him but this story line is boring. If it's supplying be erotica he missed the mark on this one. Bring back Giedeon!

I kept waiting for the climax...(no pun intended)
I am a huge EJD fan, but this writing left something to be desired. Throughout this whole story, I kept waiting for these big, exciting moments to happen and they never really did. I didn't mind the volume of diologue, but when the characters started rambling on and on about small things that seemed insignificant to the moment, it became hard to remain interested. The sex scenes were also overwhelmingly lengthy and loquacious for my liking.
Overall, it felt as if EJD was trying something new here with the format of this writing. For some I'm sure it was another slam dunk, but for me, not so much.

Extra Long Dialogue
This book was OK. Not Mr. Dickeys best. The dialogue between the characters were unrealistic and way too long for two people that just met. Overall it was ok.

Disappointing
This has to be a ghost writer, not Dickey's standard. The story needed more substance, less sex talk. Just when you get to a story and excitement it's over. This reminds me if "Sleeping with Strangers", if he does not have a "Waking with Enemies" to follow, I'm done. . .needs to come soon.. . .WE EXPECT MORE FROM THIS Author !

Hard to finish!
This is definitely not the page turner I'm used to from EJD. It was hard to listen to completion. Last on the list for me.

VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED!
I HAV BEEN A LONG TIME FAN OF ERIC JEROME DICKEY LIKE OVER 10 YEARS AND HAVE BOUGHT ALL OF HIS BOOKS AND NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED.. . I DONT KNOW WHAT HAPPEN WITH THIS BOOK. THE NARRATOR WAS GOOD BUT HAD A HARD TIME BRINGING THE OTHER CHARACTERS TO LIFE. THIS BOOK ENDED HORRIBLE AND TOOK ABOUT 15 CHAPTERS TO EVEN SPARK MY INTEREST. . NO EXCITING PLOT LIKE I HAVE BECOME USE TO.. JUS HORRIBLE! I KEPT WAITING FOR A PLOT THAT NEVER EVER HAPPENED. WAS MORE LIKE A BORING JOURNAL. NOT THE WORK I AM USE TO FROM EJD.

Very Dissatisfied
Any additional comments?
This book just didn't do it for me. I kept waiting for the good part. To much sex without a plot.

Assumptions and Judgements - Thoroughly Enjoyed!!!
I like this book initially because it was written by EJD. I have been following him since Milk in my Coffee. The title is intriguing/alluring but the setup of how the time ticked away and allll that happened in that one night.
Talk about an emotional roller coaster. My favorite part was when I imagined something was going to happen (because I was lead into it by the author) but then it was something totally different. I dug it. I wanted to slap EJD. It was so0 good. It was like sitting in the theater and screaming and then realizing it was nothing.
This was a book of judgement and assumptions. The characters are judging and assuming and you too are judging and assuming, because that is what people do.
It was slow in the beginning, but honestly I think it was me, being anxious. It gets really good.
The end leaves you wanting more….sequel maybe????

Too many chapters for the One Night!
Too many chapters for the One Night stand. I'm glad I made myself listen pass some of those chapters (with quite a bit of fast forwarding via audible, I did it lol) The ending tied everything together.
