Publisher's Summary

The highly anticipated sequel to the New York Times best-selling thriller everyone is talking about, One of Us Is Lying! There's a new mystery to solve at Bayview High, and there's a whole new set of rules.

Come on, Bayview, you know you've missed this.

A ton of copycat gossip apps have popped up since Simon died, but in the year since the Bayview four were cleared of his shocking death, no one's been able to fill the gossip void quite like he could. The problem is no one has the facts.

Until now.

This time it's not an app, though - it's a game.

Truth or Dare.

Phoebe's the first target. If you choose not to play, it's a truth. And hers is dark.

Then comes Maeve, and she should know better - always choose the dare.

But by the time Knox is about to be tagged, things have gotten dangerous. The dares have become deadly, and if Maeve learned anything from Bronwyn last year, it's that they can't count on the police for help. Or protection.

Simon's gone, but someone's determined to keep his legacy at Bayview High alive. And this time, there's a whole new set of rules.

And don't miss Two Can Keep a Secret, Karen's third "must-read YA thriller" (Bustle)!

AMAZING from beginning to end

Loved this book because I listened to One of Us is Lying couples of days before knowing they were coming out with a sequel. Loved the book so much listened to it twice, first time was to know what happened and second time for details I missed and pure enjoyment. Really liked how the author with this book brought a whole new concept and main characters, but also incorporated the main characters from the previous books the"Bayview 4". So if anyone wanted to know what happened with their favorite Bayview 4 this book give us that information. I would definitely recommend people to listen to One of Us is Lying before listening to One of Us is Next, so you can fully understand the books contrast..Like the first book the plot twists don't disappoint...Hopefully if she does another sequel it won't be a 3 years wait.

Another edge of your seat listen!

We are back with book 2! This was a fun, thrilling read and I liked the new characters at Bayview High and their drama and secrets. We got three main characters this time, Maeve, Bronwyn's younger sister; Knox, Maeve's best friend and previous boyfriend; and Phoebe, the popular girl who works with Addy. We knew a bit about Maeve from the first book and I liked that she's a sleuth and puts pieces of the puzzle together. Phoebe has had it rough since her dad died and I felt for her family situation and was glad she had some friends to lean on. Knox was kind of this poor guy caught up in everything and I felt like he could have used more point of view time so we could get to know him a bit better.

I liked the truth or dare game and the secrets that came with it. The mystery wasn't as fun to me as the first book, but I still liked getting clues and trying to figure things out for myself. I loved that we still saw Nate and Bronwyn, they have so much chemistry that they push against each other sometimes but I love them as a couple. In general I was really happy we saw the Bayview Four again and they had involvement in the story.
The rotating points of view and storylines from reporters made this fun and kept the plot moving. I had a couple scares where I was worried for our characters and couldn't wait to finish so I could see what was going on. I highly recommend the audiobook for this one!

A stunning sequel that lives up to its predecessor

I first read One Of Us Is Lying when it released in 2017, but I somehow forgot all the nuances that made it a great book. It was a great psychological drama that took me back to my high school days, where things were simpler, yet far more complicated and drama-soaked.

This follow-up, One Of Us Is Next, is even better than the original. Rather than starting with fresh people, this book expands on the lives of the characters from the first book. It seamlessly blends the best elements of One Of Us Is Lying in a devilish, witty manner without relying too heavily on the formula that preceded it.

The narrators were brilliant, especially Maeve, and the characters were realistic up to a certain point. Unfortunately, the third act fizzled a bit. The plot went from a tidy sequence and ended in a knotted-up mess.

The biggest issue I had with the book was how abruptly it ended. I wish it had further paved the way for the next (if there will indeed be a next book.) I was expecting a similar, neatly tied-up, ending that the first book provided and, though One Of Us Is Next has a shocking twist, the end was definitely rushed.

Despite its flaws, I’m really hoping that we’ll get a third in the One Of Us series. It feels like Bayview High isn’t finished with us quite yet, and I am really interested to learn what comes next.

Im ready for the next book. This story has been amazing and I am so happy that I started with the first book. I will purchase all of the future book hard copy and Audible version. Such amazing narrators in both books.

Excellent book!

One of Us Is Lying was my first audible purchase, i have anxiously been waiting for the release date of One of Us is Next. I was not disappointed. There is constant suspense and just when you think the book is wrapping up they throw more surprises at you. I would highly recommend both of these books
