Publisher's Summary

He’s bossy, moody, and overprotective.

He’s also a pro athlete who needs to focus on winning games and staying out of the headlines.

I’m fiercely independent and need a man like I need a second period each month.

So when our worlds collide, I never expected him to be the one to jump in and save me. Especially not when my roommate disappears, leaving me with her baby.

I’m clueless about babies - and it shows. Good thing Alexei isn’t. With six nieces and nephews and an apparent hero complex, the dude is both sexy and more than capable. It’s a combination that makes it easy to forget we’re just playing house.

This audiobook includes the bonus novella Bossy Brit, which is only available in audio in this edition of Finding Alexei. It is narrated by Shane East and Erin Mallon.

Love of a Baby

Only For Tonight by Kendall Ryan – review
Finding Alexei

4
I loved Ryleigh and Alexei – found them both relatable and characters that I found myself cheering for. The story is fun and lite – a good summertime read. It takes you on an emotional ride with what’s going on in Ryleigh’s world. Alexei is the type of hero that I love reading about – an excellent book boyfriend.

The extremes in their social standing were a bit much for me but didn’t affect my overall enjoyment of the story. Because it’s a shorter story, everything happens in a condensed time frame, which at times felt like it was happening to fast, but at the same time wasn’t bad. I would have liked to have seen this story longer, to enjoy the romance longer and see more development.

I listened to this on audio and enjoyed the narrators who did a good job.

Bossy Brit by Kendall Ryan

3.5
This is another fun, lite summertime read by Kendall Ryan. I enjoyed the main characters. I’m a sucker for British heroes. Love the accent (highly recommend listening to this on audio). If you like the bossy/employee trope, this is a good read. Their chemistry is well written and easy to believe and enjoy.

I wanted more – from the romance; see the ex-wife get put into her place; the interaction with the children, which wasn’t possible in a short book.

I listened to this book on audio and highly enjoyed it. The narrators are good and hearing the hero with a British accent added to the enjoyment of the story.

Finding Alexei was great Bossy Brit sort of

Finding Alexei was great Bossy Brit sort of.

Finding Alexei was a great story with Erin and Jason’s voices.
Note it really is only about 3hours.

Bossy Brit’s story was good but I have no love for Shane West’s voice. Nothing personal. I’m not a Brit accent fan. But the voice goes with the Brit character.

I really love Kendall Ryan's books !! 💕

I absolutely love Kendall Ryan and have read/listened to most of her books.
Jason and Erin have some good chemistry in finding Alexei. I love these two together.
Yes this book has a familiar spin and story but I love listening to Jason and Erin's narrating. I think I've listened to everything they've narrated together. Erin has that sweet girl next door voice sometimes but she can do naughty pretty damn good too.
This book is short, sweet and a little sexy but no angst. A few other funny characters but I liked it a lot.
There's 2 surprises after the conclusion of this book. A short bonus novella and chapters from Ms. Ryan's other new book Boyfriend for hire coming out soon. Looking forward to it!!

Female narration

Great story. Erin’s narration is clear and read well, but her habit of drawing out the end of words at the end of phrases or sentences is very distracting and hard to listen to.

“I Believe the Technical Term is Ovary Explosion”

Ryleigh is doing the best she can. Her ex-roommate left her with her baby, her car needs some work, she’s late on utilities and rent and she’s just been propositioned outside of the topless bar where she works. Alexei needs to focus on football, keep himself out of the headlines and concentrate on winning games - so why does he find himself intervening when he sees a woman in need of help outside of a bar? Because he’s got a hero complex, younger sisters and a mother who would be ashamed if he didn’t help out.

I really enjoyed this one! It had me smiling and swooning and is full of heart. It even made me tear up a bit. Ryleigh is a great heroine, she is put into a really difficult situation when baby Ella is left in her care but she is strong, feisty and even though she is prideful she is willing to put it aside to put Ella first. Alexei was the perfect hero for me. He is very protective of the ones he loves, is respectful and loves that Ryleigh doesn’t care one iota that he is a famous football player. He knew when to push things and when to leave things alone. There was total cuteness overload during the scenes where Alexei interacts with Ella, and I loved seeing him interact with his family. You get the sense right away that he is a great guy with a big heart (who also happens to know his way around a baby due to being an uncle who gets put in charge of babysitting duties every once in a while). The sex scenes were hot and so well written and felt natural to the story.

Erin Mallon and Jason Clarke do a phenomenal job! Those two bring any book they perform to the next level - they draw you in and squeeze the emotions out of you. I’ve listened to so many books both of them have done and could not say enough great things about them.

This was actually a short book, it ended around the 4:09 mark. After that there was a bonus novella (which was about 2 and a half hours long) that Kendall Ryan sent out in her reader newsletter called Bossy Brit narrated by Erin Mallon and Shane East, which was a nice treat. Followed by a 20 minute preview of Boyfriend for Hire. There was kind of a technical error that put a tiny part of Finding Alexei at the end of the audiobook- but it didn’t detract from the book in any sort of way. Overall, it was worth the credit! I highly recommend this one!

Short story with an even briefer novella at end

This is a romance about friend Alex from Dear Jane. It is pretty quick with not a lot of character development and a bare bones plot but the hero is just as nice in his own story as he was in Dear Jane. Story revolves around Alex assisting and then becoming involved with a down on her luck waitress who is caring for an ex-roommates baby.
The second story is a quickie office romance that becomes more. This story is short, has little substance but a lot of hot scenes, and it is totally unrelated to the Alexi/ Rylie, Weston/ Jane, Slate/Keaton, and Natalie/Camden group of friends. Looking forward the story of Cam and Nat’s friend Jack! The narration is good in all stories though some are pretty short like these 2 so it is good that 2 stories are packaged together.

Misleading

The last 2hrs 30mins, (at least a third of the book) is another book, wasted a credit on a book that is only around 4hrs long.

This book is only 4 hours long!

I am very irritated that this book was only 4 hours long! This happened in her last book I read! I feel duped! I also feel like while it was entertaining there wasn’t much substance to this book. It was a little cliche and I can’t get over the fact that I thought there was 2 more hours to this book and it just ended. I loved his voice and hers was a bit sing songy.

New Favorite Book Boyfriend

Finding Alexei was one of the sweetest books I have listened to all year. After reading it, I just knew I needed to have listen. Jason and Erin really bought this book to life in a such a way that I just loved. These two just came together in a way that was so much like a fairytale that women can just swoon over. Alexei is sweet, generous, caring, sexy, and alpha! Ryleigh is such a strong, independent woman, who wants to stand on her own, but is strong enough to realize when she needs it. Throw a baby into the mix and you have a recipe for one really sweet, fun read!!
