À propos de cet audio

Ralph:

Being traded to Dallas was a dream come true. I had everything I wanted, my game had never been better, and my wife was due to have our baby any day now. What could go wrong? Everything.

I was now raising our baby on my own. After hockey practice and games, I didn't have time to sleep, let alone make sure my social media was up to par. I never thought I'd get a second chance at love.

Candace:

When my hotshot brother was drafted in the NHL, he didn't have time to do his social media, so I took over for him. Little did I know it would become my career.

My plate was full with more than 50 NHL players, and I wasn't taking on any new clients. Yet when he showed up on my doorstep with the cutest little girl in the whole world, I couldn't say no.

I was just helping, but it turned into more than that. He's the man I've been waiting for.

I actually enjoyed the story and i'm also a sucker for Connor Crais' voice (except when he does the FMC's lines lol). But it's kinda weird how obsessed and easily attached FMC is to babies. I mean, I love cute babies as much as the next ovulating woman but she's like one mental breakdown away from being one of those women in Law & Order SVU that kidnaps kids thinking they're her kids.

Also not a big fan of the MMC trying to tell her what to wear, and even throwing away some of her clothes.

Good but a little weird

it went downhill about the halfway mark. I do not find it sexy or compelling when the male lead tells his partner what she can and cannot wear. Seriously wtf.
There was a lot of room for drama and tension in this story, given the premise. But for some reason we get an absurdly hysterical over-reaction on Candace's part followed by the same from Ralph. It was just soooo high school and overblown, I completely lost interest. The story also spent a lot of time going into detail around looking after the baby and repeatedly describing feeding, bathing and settling the kid to sleep, but didn't put nearly the same focus on the development of their relationship. They both swear they wouldn't date the other but then bam, no dialogue or description on why those reasons no longer applied. We're just dating.
Also, dear lord, the male narrator should never do a female voice during sex scenes. He made me so uncomfortable, I skipped through most. Just yuck.

Started out alright but...

I generally like Natasha’s writing but I do think she overuses the phrase “throw my head back & laugh…It appears way too often…It is obnoxious

This was my least favourite book of the series. I think it was a lack of chemistry or character development.

Connor and Ava did a great job narrating. Candace is sweet and Ralph is unsure of what a true reciprocal loving relationship looks like. Ari makes them an instant family. I had questions by the end - what happened to Candace's career? how did the others involved in the relationship react and support them? That part was rushed. Good story overall.
