Reeling from the truth of her last relationship, Melody plans to stay in town just long enough to get back on her feet. Then, she’s gone again. Meanwhile, Zac is facing an uphill battle to coach his team to its first winning game in years, to show Melody how she deserves to be loved, and to keep Parker from ever finding out. Maybe then, being with her will be more than just a dream.
There were components that felt reminiscent of a Chelsea Curto book (which I LOVE obviously!). The MMC was a college football coach that gave some serious Shawn Holmes energy (from Caught on Camera by Chelsea Curto) and I loved that the FMC was a women in stem that was applying her data analysis skills to sports (also very CC like - women in sports? Yes please.) Another CC comparison? This man is DOWN BAD. Again, I am not even remotely complaining about the similarities, they 100% make it better for me because I know I eat this shit up.
The friend group had such a fun found family dynamic. The FMC's character growth through her journey of finding herself after leaving a controlling relationship and the way the MMC tried to support her, make her happy and give her what she needs without letting her know he was the one behind it so as to not hold it over her head the way her last relationship did was so sweet.
Can we talk about the narrator line up real quick? Teddy Hamilton + Carly Robins (aka CJ Bloom)! I love both of these narrators separately, but they had me that much more immersed in the story together!
