Moderately enjoyable, but deeply overrated.
Not sure why this series is so popular. The female lead is rather irritating, and the plot feels so contrived. The first book was great, the second good, but this one just okay. Disappointed to see the plot stretched so thin.

Another great romp
lol learn from my mistakes and take the time to reread the previous books. I was constantly confuzzled about who the heck we were talking about.
Other than that it was great! It took a bit to get into it but then by the end we're racing through all the good stuff.
Loved the cliffhanger (again) lol .

Like always… incredible
I love and hate Rebecca in equal parts after this… kept me on the edge of my seat with every chapter. My heart broke and I’m already wondering what I’m going to do until the next on. The narration - spectacular.

Just meh, honestly.
I did not enjoy this book. 🫤 I was SO enthralled with Fourth Wing—thought it was just so well done and couldn’t wait to read Iron Flame. However, Iron Flame wasn’t nearly as engaging as FW and, about half way through I started to get bored with what felt like a record on repeat. Anyone who read it must have picked up the endless “I suck at everything” vibe that permeated everything Violet said or did…but I finished it anyway and thought the twist at the end was very redeeming.
Then this one. 😬 I was really hoping the author would find a new groove with it and bring it all together into a strong storyline. Instead, the entire book felt like the author was throwing spaghetti at the wall and hoping parts of the storyline would stick. There were so many parts of the book that felt like she was just throwing in filler to draw it out and so many more that felt like she was just writing down anything and everything just to get enough story to meet a deadline.
It was, again, all over the place and chaotic, like she’s trying to pull too many strings together and braid them into something smooth.
This one did it for me. I won’t be reading anymore in the series. 🤷🏻♀️

Captivating Series!!
What a ride! Such an entertaining story, couldn't stop listening! Love the main narrator of these books. She really makes the books come to life. Highly recommend

Loved it, and strong narrators!
Really fun to listen. The story grips you and make you feel what the characters are going through. Is it perfect no, but I enjoyed it very much. Bravo Rebecca Yarros, and thank you for this adventure. Can’t wait for book 4!!

The narration
Love this series, had me hooked from the start. I also love the narrator so much. I don’t like how it switches to a different narrator at the end of each book because I get so into the story because of Rabecca’s narration that the new voice ruins it for me. Wish she read the entire story for each book.

sloowwww start. felt the book called could've been half the length. lots of characters quickly introduced left me feeling lost near the end. picks up and gets good in the last half but took too long to get there.
