Publisher's Summary

The Lux series continues with the third installment of this riveting paranormal YA series.

No one is like Daemon Black. When he set out to prove his feelings for Katy, he wasn't fooling around. Doubting him isn't something she'll do again and now that they've made it through the rough patches, well, there's a lot of spontaneous combustion going on. But even he can't protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they loved. With help coming from the most unlikely source and Adam's death still lingering with those who loved him, friends will become the deadliest of enemies and the villains will no longer be clear. When each step they take in discovering the truth puts them in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more Katy realizes there is no end to what she's capable of. They won't turn back, even if the outcome will shatter their worlds forever.

What the critics say

"Armentrout keeps the momentum rolling with her third Lux entry. [Fans] will be enthralled from beginning to end. Katy and Dameon's heat sparks as the intrigue increases, too. Friends and enemies take sides, and the ending will leave [fans] yelling." ( RT Book Reviews)

So glad I'm listening now and don't have to wait for the next book cause wow this series sure is full of cliffhangers! Another great book in this series, Opal is filled with action packed excitement and lots of problems. This book had me more emotional than the others in the series because there was a few sad parts, some broken/damaged friendships and lots of pain. I keep having to remind myself that these characters are teenagers when I start feeling like I need to smack them up side the head for some of their decisions and drama but other than that I love Katy & Daemon and I think they have come a long way since book 1.

The narration has grown on my very much!

She can’t be saying their names right

I read the first few physical books and am so distracted by the way she says the names.

Oh man-- This series is must read!

This series is so fluffing good! I loved the characters bore that i can explain. They are so well developed. Jennifer has this way of extracting all the emotion from you that she can so that you feel wholly invested in the book. I . Loved . It. I have read the whole series and can tell you it is one of my faves. Keep going!

Hate kat

She is so damn stubborn. She didn’t listen and get everyone in trouble. I also don’t like that this story is so long for no reason.

Book 📚 3

Series is progressing..sci-fi story all leads up to saving Beth and Blake’s friend at the secret compound. This must be read in order from book one to the end. DISLIKE THE NARRATOR...LOVE THE STORY & all the characters. She deserves - 5 for points (narrator). Who ever picks the narrators for our books 📚 did not do this author justice or the listener. Sorry to say she must find a new job. Or used in stories with small story lines never the lead. I have never complained or so adamant about a narrator. Series is great 👍

Slow moving, crazy ending

Things are much calmer in this book. Dawson is home, Daemon had admitted his feelings for Katy and they're dating, which is great, but it made the story drag. There were bits of craziness interspersed and I did like getting to know Dawson. He's been through a lot and I liked that he and Katy formed a friendship. Most of the action happened at the end and we are left with a cliffhanger! Now I have to get book 4 because I need to know what happens and make sure the characters are okay. The author really knows how to keep me on the hook lol.

Best one so far!!

I really didn't love book 2. Katie was such an idiot in that book that I didn't think I could continue. I took a break for a bit and finally decided to start Opal. It drags a bit in the beginning, but then it picks up in all aspects...action, romance, danger. I couldn't stop listening. I needed to know if they were finally going to get Beth. I loved Dawsons character and glad he wasn't just another Daemon. Still don't love the narrator. Her Daemon voice is just comical. He sounds like an idiot. But I love the series and will be starting book 4 immediately.

5 Opal Stars

I thought there was action in book 2, oh boy what I wrong there is some crazy action in book 3. I forgot how much I liked this series.

Don’t get me wrong there were times I wanted to shake Katy and there were times I wanted to shake Deamon, but overall this series is just getting better and better.

The relationship between Dee and Katy kinda hurt my heart I am hoping they can get back what they once had.

Ahhh I can’t keep typing I have to go and read book 4

Again the narration isn’t horrible, I think if she were narration anything other than teenagers it would be totally fine. Again I like her she doesn’t take from the story at all just she has an older sounding voice.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

ugggggh

Ok. This was a good book. narrator was on point and so was the author. My only qualm is with this dumb little girl. She was doing good as far as teenage stupidity. but my my...the amount of pure stupidity in this book was three books worth. She withheld the truth before and it blew up in her face, you think she would learn from that....nope. she lets the same person who screwed her over close enough to screw her over again. At this point she deserves. I'm looking forward to the next book to see if she gets it.
