Enjoyable read
I have really enjoyed this series however I found the narration hard to enjoy because a) i went from having the same reader for the first two books and had to get used to a new voice personifying the same characters. B) Mr. Newman’s voice to be rather monotone and I’d have to rewind because I’d catch myself lost in the same tone and loose what was being said. There wasn’t much inflection.
Overall a great book though

narrator was very poor.
The narrator's unergetic and repetitive diction detracted from the storyline. I wanted to skip through book, just to stop listening to him drone on.

I hope the author gets a new narrator to re-record
It was a very tough read. Going from the previous author to this author is extremely tough. I'd call it whiplash. His deep voice keeps making me lose focus while listening, almost putting me to sleep. I wish they would've kept the narrator for the first 2 book throughout this 4 book series. I haven't finished it yet, and I'm really struggling to keep interested. I adored the 1st book and thought that while the second book was not as good, it was still a lot better than this 3rd book. It's hard to gauge whether the story has gone downhill more or its the narrators deep deep voice or both. I enjoyed both of the first two books, but I hope the author gets the old narrator back in the studio to re-record this one day. On top of the fact that the author seems to have added in describing the battles and what soldiers are doing. Something he didn't do as much in the first two books. While this occasionally gets me hyper focused, most of the time, it actually does the opposite. I loved the first book because of it telling us what happens through economics, diplomacy, and attacks. It doesn't go into so much detail to describe everything that's happening. I can't put my finger on it, but the way they describe the actual battles mostly doesn't interest me. Which is stunning, considering I usually love stuff like that and especially because of how high stakes the battles are. The greatness of the first two books are basically what's keeping me going at this point and keeping me from giving up on this book. It has some awesome parts, but the narrator, as I've mentioned, just makes it all fall flat. I've still got a little bit to go, but I'll definitely check reviews for this authors books and see if the narrator is good or bad. Along with checking other things.

Need Narrator
The story line is OK. However, the narration leaves something to be desired. Monotone voices do not do well in a narration type setting.

Narrator sucks badly
Good story but who hired the clod to narrate it? Could not finish it because of monotonous drone. A waste of a credit.
