Love Actually!
Orange Blossoms- Love Blooms is a wonderful read/listen. Elaine Hart is trying her best to save the family farm. Heartland Ranch is a working orange grove, but it’s fallen in hard times. She is set to meet with Ol’Man Cole, the banker who she must try to convince to let her make some changes to try to save their ranch. She is surprised to learn that Ol’ man Cole is in reality David Cole, a young, handsome banker, who is skeptical of Elaine’s plan. The problem is Elaine has an abusive ex, who happens to be the family’s lawyer. She’s not told anyone about the abuse, but David Cole witnessed it when Elaine and he had their first meeting, as the ex had shown up unexpectedly trying to convince Elaine to take him back. Orange Blossoms is a look at two families. One dysfunctional and one not. Some disturbing truths are told , and in the midst of all this is Elaine and David’s undeniable attraction to one another. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and I think you will too!

Great story.
This was just the read I needed: a sweet, loveable escape with just enough drama to keep me engaged. The characters are well developed, the story had good pacing, no lagging or rushing in the telling of the tale. Sophia Shu does a fantastic job narrating this book and bringing the characters to life. I really enjoyed listening to this book.

Broken Hearts and Family Secrets
When the family orchard farm falls into financial troubles, Elaine Hart is sure she has what it takes to buy some time from the banker and save the farm but she hadn't banked on this particular financier.
I enjoyed this sweet love story although it's subplot of family mysteries, deception, selfishness and abuse doesn't always balance well with the lighthearted romance between the major characters and sometimes almost makes it feel like two stories running counter to one another.
Both are good stories so it's well worth your time.

I loved this story!
This story is about how love finds its own way, no matter how hard one fights it. Elaine finds herself running the family orange grove, and like many farming operations, it’s struggling. While trying to diversify and get the farm back on track, a loan comes due and the farm may be out of extensions. David is the banker who is managing the loan- as an ethical man, he must decide how to handle this situation while finding himself undeniably attracted to Elaine.
This is a book about adults who find love after having some set-backs in both love and business. The author did a great job weaving these two characters together in a believable and flawed way. Elaine is very slow to trust, given her childhood, and David is wary given his ongoing divorce.
The narrator did a great job brining this sweet story to life and is exceptional at giving each character their unique voice, including the minor ones. I thoroughly enjoyed this story!

a good story but it was dragging
The romance between David and Elaine as slow as molasses. with little to know heat. what happened to them and the family, could've been wrapped up in 4-5 hrs. there wasn't enough between the 2 main characters. Good listen but rated it a PG 13. TOO MILD.

Narrators Can Make or Break a Book
I did struggle with how fast Elaine and David fell in love and the development of most of the characters in the book, but the narrator did not help to make the story more enjoyable.
I did enjoy the love Thomas Hart felt for his two daughters and his love for the family business. He groomed Elaine to take care of the business and possibly one day take it over. Just when I thought I would get to know more about a character, the story would move on to another subject or character. Several things seemed rushed ( trying to not spoil anything) where they could have been flushed out for a better understanding of why things were done.
The narrator’s voice was pitchy almost to the point of whining and she struggled with Amanda’s British accent that she supposedly picked up while living in London and Paris. She could not consistently maintain that British accent.
I found reading the story about as more enjoyable that listening.
