Publisher's Summary
Betrayal rules Pelenor - but will Harper betray herself to save those she loves?
Saradon rules Pelenor with an iron fist. The Court of Tournai is beholden to him. A new Order, loyal to the Dark One of Altarea, rises under his dominion.
Trapped under his control, Harper and Dimitri are forced to ally to survive, but neither can protect the other from Saradon's orders. Harper finds herself drawn into a darkness from which she cannot escape. Love and friendship endure even in the darkest times, but they may not be enough to turn the tide.
Her former companions cannot hope to save her, stranded in the dwarven realm of Valtivar. Korrin is determined to wrest control of the mountains back from Saradon and the goblin scourge, but the cost will be high, and the dwarves cannot prevail alone. Ragnar must decide where his loyalties lay; with the family he has chosen, or the kin bound to him by blood.
The companions know Erendriel's edicts; the only scraps of faint hope any of them can cling to, but Pelenor is without allies and falls from within. Aedon only sees one choice. He must journey far to beseech help from an unlikely ally - one who would sooner see Aedon dead than treat with him.
War comes for Pelenor. The Dark One of Altarea will have his dominion. Will Pelenor be the first to fall, or can Harper and her far-flung companions somehow avert catastrophe?
Continue the thrilling epic tale of the Chronicles of Pelenor in the penultimate Order of Valxiron to discover Pelenor's fate.

Another excellent entry!
Here we have yet another fantastically brilliant entry in the Pelenor series that I couldn't help rushing through!
Despite my desire to take my time and savor the experience.
This is yet another example of why Jack Voraces has been very close to the top of my favorite narrators list since I discovered him!
His voices are brilliant, even his female voices are true to source and believable. His control of vocal inflections is second to none, and his tempo shifts throughout the book almost perfectly convey the tension of any given scene.
Oh my, after the ending to Court of Shadows I was really nervous about where this would go but super excited to dig into this story!
We meet a couple of new faces, one of them VERY interesting and with a fascinating background connection to Aidyn.
As of it wasn't strong enough before, I now have an even deeper connection with Harper and it was wonderful to see a very different side to Demitrius.
Early in the series, I really disliked him. But now, the more I read of him the more he grows on me!
And before you start thinking this book is all character study, let me disabuse you of that notion right now. We have action, intrigue, romance, conflicted emotions, battles, treachery, you name it!
The closest thing I have to a criticism is there are two or three events in which I would have really enjoyed seeing more details and taking a bit more time to get to where it goes.
That said, I love the deepening of the characters and the world. There are still a few things I'm speculating on that I really hope get answered, but all in all I couldn't ask for more from this book.
In fairness, the ending to this one isn't quite as epic as that of the previous two, but it more than makes up for this in sheer potential for epicness at the conclusion of this series.
In spite of that, though, and the close of this tale being a tad abrupt, everything comes together brilliantly with just enough closure to keep me happy.
I'm now anxiously awaiting the next book!

Amazing entry!
A long overdue review :)
Meg (and Jack!) manage to keep things interesting book after book. I love how it is consistently interesting and entertaining. What I enjoyed a lot is the slight shift from action packed book 1-2 to character development and building. And even though it's already third book certain plot twists were quite a surprise to me. I feel like with each book Meg Cowley improves in her writing.
The narration is top notch as usual. I listened to almost all books by Jack and you can really see how he improves with each book.

I feel kinda bad
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
I started the series interested enough, my only problem was that harper wasn't an interesting character, but the other characters were interesting enough for me to keep going, and the narrator did a fantastic job with the characters voices.
I can't finish the series, the chapters with harper and dimiti are really boring for me, it probably gets better, but I just can't continue.
I got the whole series from the narrator in exchange for an honest review, and I feel he did an amazing job keeping me involved in things that bored me, and thus I feel kinda bad.

Exciting Adventure
Each installment keeps getting better and better! This series is keeping me engaged wondering how in Pelenor are they going to ever win against Saradon! The plots thicken and I cannot wait to find out what happens next.
The narration and special voice effects Jack Voraces brings to the tale only pulls me in even more than the story alone! Can anyone say chills at the final line of this book.

Great Fantasy Adventure!
A great fantasy adventure with a good storyline in a world of imagination. Book three picks up smoothly where book two left off. Great characters exist in this story with excellent detailed settings. As the series gets more exciting the book is hard to put down. Excellent narration. A highly recommended book and series.

Wonderful conclusion
Order of Valxiron: Chronicles of Pelenor, Book 3, my seventh read from author Meg Cowley. Picking up seamlessly from where book 2 left off, wonderful characters, detailed settings. Very good read! I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. I was impressed and enjoyed the vocal variety & inflections of narrator Jack Voraces. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

A great next step in the series
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
TLDR; Lighter in the action, and heavier in the world-building.
I really enjoy this series, it's not a series overly heavy in battles and combat, but still has a really great fantasy world built out of it. So far this might be the weakest book, it's not bad by any means, but it's a bit of a lull in the overall action. This has the feel of putting all the pieces in order and getting them where they need to be. You get a lot of world-building here, characters fleshing out their roles, meeting new allies/kinda allies. Building out the secret society, and the feel of the common folks. This adds a lot more depth to the world and gives things a more global perspective.
Overall, if you've enjoyed the rest of the series this is a great addition.

Things get a bit side trackex
The story gets a bit slogged down as the story jumps fr perspective to perspective that slows down the story, but series characters continue to get more fleshed out.
