I continue to be fascinated by what people discover when a family members does genetic testing and find a relative they never knew about. This one has some pretty far reaching ripple effects. Definitely an interesting listen.

I'd heard and read about the Home Children before but this account is heartbreaking. So many lives could have been different if governments had some decency and taken accountability. Saying sorry doesn't do anything when you've ruined lives.

Sad Shameful History

The work that went into digging deep uncovering this man’s secrets that he so carefully guarded though his life is very impressive. A very sad story, and unfortunately, as we discover was not an isolated case. What was the government thinking? Oh yeah -they weren’t! Not much has changed in that regard!

True story- unbelievable

Interesting piece of British & Canadian history. I could listen to anything Meghan Follows narrates and she does a great job here.

I didn’t think that when I added this book to my library that it was about Home Children.
Our family knows about this topic, my grandfather was one. He had two different placements in Canada. The first was horrible but the second family basically adopted him. So many similarities and so many differences. For my heart it was a tear jerking listen.
