Publisher's Summary
Three generations of women in the Ferrari family must heal the broken pieces of their lives on a trip of a lifetime through picturesque Italy from New York Times best-selling author Jennifer Probst.
Workaholic, career-obsessed Francesca is fiercely independent and successful in all areas of life except one: family. She struggles to make time for her relationship with her teenage daughter, Allegra, and the two have become practically strangers to each other. When Allegra hangs out with a new crowd and is arrested for drug possession, Francesca gives in to her mother's wish that they take one epic summer vacation to trace their family roots in Italy. She just never expected to face a choice that might change the course of her life....
Allegra wants to make her grandmother happy, but she hates the idea of forced time with her mother and vows to fight every step of the ridiculous tour, until a young man on the verge of priesthood begins to show her the power of acceptance, healing, and the heartbreaking complications of love.
Sophia knows her girls are in trouble. A summer filled with the possibility for change is what they all desperately need. Among the ruins of ancient Rome, the small churches of Assisi, and the rolling hills of Tuscany, Sophia hopes to show her girls that the bonds of family are everything and to remind them that they can always lean on one another, before it's too late.

Couldn't finish
My first review after over 250 books. Couldn't finish. Sounded like a fun escape since I live in Italy most of the time. However - one dimensional characters, horrific stereotypes, terrible narration, and the worst Italian accents in any book I've listened to. Save yourself a credit. Just don't. It's been done better by so many other writers.

Get ready for the perfect trip!
I’m not one that writes many reviews but I had to take a minute to write this one.
The Italian Summer will take you from the highs of a teenage girl trying to find herself to an absentee mother who thinks she doing the best she can. Then the grandmother who sees the problems with her girls and knows it need to be fixed. Toss in first time love for both mother and daughter along with the grandmother who gets the trip she always wanted and you have the best story ever.

Started out great then went downhill
I wanted to love this one all the way to the end. I was intrigued up until the last 5 chapters. The ending made me constantly roll my eyes as it took a brining turn.
It got very boring when they introduced the love scenes with strangers whom they met on an Italian tour. What are the odds of going on a family trip and all three find love overseas that won’t last. Especially with who the love interests were. So unrealistic. I don’t think I’d recommend this story.

Feel Good Love Story
This book was Beautiful it was a Love story that focused on Love of Family, Love of Tradition, Love of the Heart and Love of Beauty. The journey these 3 women took touched my heart and inspired me to make sure that I visit Naples in my lifetime. My daughter has just returned from Naples and while she was there I listened to this book and from her pictures and stories it’s as was told in this book! Looking forward to seeking out my roots in Naples🇮🇹

Sweet story
Sweet story with very relatable family issues. I struggled front the beginning with the narrators, especially when they tried to do the voices of the other people in the story. Overall worth the listen because of the story
