Publisher's Summary
This year will either make me or break me.…
My professors worry that I'm sliding down a slippery slope, but I know I'm still on the path of redemption. I've worked too hard for too long, and I have no intention of letting down my family. When Bryn disappears during a routine field trip, though, I must put my need to succeed on hold. After all, what good is being the best if I can't use my powers to help those closest to me? The more facts I uncover, the more I realize that her disappearance is part of a much larger scheme - one that threatens our very existence.
Can I stop a diabolical plan in motion, or will I suffer the same fate as those I'm striving to save?

Not terrible
I almost didn’t listen to the third book due to the authors over use of the word “said”, but since I finished the first 2 I figured I better follow through with Danni’s story. While I found the storyline intriguing, I’m very disappointed with character growth. Danni received a premonition of sorts that told her of a coming failure. I was excited by this. Danni is over confident and cocky which is ok if the character can grow and become a more humble person. In other words, become more relatable. This is not the case with Danni. She remains arrogant throughout the entire series. One of my biggest pet peeves with this particular story, is that although she received the premonition of failure, it never came to be. It would have been nice to see her fall and realize that it’s ok to let others shine and that you can’t be perfect all the time. That although she is powerful and amazing in her own rights, there are others just as amazing as she is. So overall, character development is severely lacking. I would have also liked to see more from her relationship with Peter.

It was good
I started this series despite seeing all the negative comments. I agree with some of them not being a complete fan of the main character. I was holding out for her to have an a ha moment and not be so over the top. To calm down with trying to the the best. I would have liked a book about Danni's first year at the academy just to have that foundation. And maybe an understanding as to why her friends are so loyal to her. If it were me I would not have been friends with Danni. With her using her own magic intervening another students learning opportunity. Simply because she can do it better than the student who is practicing. And the whole being a smart mouth with teachers. also maybe Danni should have had an out let like Brynn did. Not for therapy but maybe a specific teacher or person she could spar with or just a way for her to let her use her magic in controlled setting. Or even to just learn how to over come those urges. Overall a good story line it kept me entertained.

Another can't put it down book.
Well, I read this one cover to cover. I should say listened. While working in the nice out doors weather.70 degrees. Started in the morning and finished by supper. Just love Ms. Chase writing. The characters are fresh and work well together. I never lose track of who's who. I've done that in other books. The narrator is super. Love the voices she makes for each character and is able to maintain them though out the reading. I'll have to read another one now.

This one is a real nail biter!!!
Things are getting a little dicey with Dani's magic. It seems to be getting away from her. Just when she starts getting afraid for herself she is thrown in to a new adventure but this one is for life and death. Hers and Bryns. The stakes are higher than ever before and this time she does not have Peter by her side. This one is a real nail biter!

repetitive words
I can't stand these books that constantly have "he said" "I said" "she said" after every statement. so unnecessary & it's all I ever hear when I'm trying to listen to the story.

Same voice
The story line was not bad at all but I which there was a male read the male part of it. Also I wish she could have changed her voice. I didn’t like all the characters sound the same.

I want more!
No matter how mundane I found the narrator, I still enjoyed the storyline. With the odd mix if characters the trio of books had me since word one. I enjoyed the chivalrous slow progression of Dani and Peter’s relationship. Maybe the stories can continue after graduation and go more into what makes each character who they are. But with a much better narrator.

Wish we had more light paranormal romance like this.
At first I thought I had missed a book but as I continue I was sucked in. The adventures were different in all 3 books so far. The romance was PG with still keeping my interest. What I would call a light one day read.
Super natural or paranormal book. It had many references to god as well as magic and other super natural being. Would listen again.
