Publisher's Summary

An unpauseable new romance from New York Times best-selling, Audie Award-winning author Kylie Scott - available in audio first!

When Anna wakes up from a coma after a car crash, she discovers life has gone on without her. Her husband has been unfaithful - with her best friend - and she’s been long since replaced at work. While her old life is a distant memory, her new life feels like an empty shell. Then she meets the stranger who saved her life during the crash, and he changes everything.

Leif Larsen - tattooist, joker, and player - has his own scars thanks to the crash that put Anna in a coma. Helping her move on from her failed marriage, and create a new life, sounds like a perfect distraction. So when he needs a new roommate, he invites Anna to begin her new life with him.

Although their lives may have been put on pause, together they just might find a way to heal.

Ah-maze-ing story and narration!!!

I loved this slowburn romance. Anna and Leif were amazing. I couldn't get enough of how supportive Leif was. All he wanted was for Anna to find herself. Anna is fabulous. She woke up from a coma to find her world flipped upside down. What she believed was completely turned on its axis. Anna had to find herself. I loved listening while she found herself. She became empowered and I loved watching her become a stronger her.

"It's more the whole of you that drives me crazy." -Leif

The narration was perfect. Andi Arndt is a fabulous narrator and I felt like she gave Anna life. It's odd, we don't get Leif's POV through this book but I would have loved to have his thoughts. This isn't a negative thought, I could have used 4 more hours of this book and would have loved getting his side. Saying that, this is an amazingly strong and powerful story as it is. I love finding a book where a woman is on a mission to find herself and she does. She comes out stronger and Arndt knocked the narration out of the park.

Put a Smile on My Face

So good. The story was compelling and the chemistry between Anna and Leif was electric. I adore all of Kylie Scott’s protagonists. It’s amazing just how much character development and growth were packed into one story. There were so many emotions. This was the perfect way spend the day and put a smile on my face.

Standing for what is right!

I loved Anna and Leif! Anna is coming out of a coma. Leif was hit on his motorcycle by Anna as a result of her being hit. He reads to her while she is in the coma. He is totally swoon worthy like his brother Ed! Her husband, Ryan, cheated on her while she was in a coma with her best friend. Leif is not her normal type. He is tattooed and rides a motorcycle. I admired her spunk in standing up to what is in her comfort zone and truly coming into her own. Loved Andi Arndt’s narration!

Pause

Audiobooks can be hit or miss for me, but this was such a great listen/read. The narration was easy to listen to and engaging. It really brought the characters to life.

This was my first Kylie Scott book and I found myself drawn in by Leif and Anna's story. How strong she was to rebuild her life after her accident and the implosion of her marriage. How she and Leif connected and ultimately found something special with each other.

This was really a wonderful read and I can't wait to try more of Kylie's books.

Pause is connected to the previous book Repeat but is a standalone. It does contain a spoiler for Repeat, though, so you might want to read Repeat first.

Loved Leif and Anna!

I really enjoyed Pause! Anna and Leif's story was both tragic and heartfelt. Scott does an amazing job of writing characters that you can relate to and connect with. Both of these characters were involved in the same tragic accident, that eventually brought these two together. Andi Arndt's performance is spot on as Anna. You can really feel all of Anna's pain and passion in her performance as she struggles to find herself again after waking up from a coma. I also just fell in love with Leif! I loved how well his character connected and fell for Anna. Not to mention Andi's male voice is swoon-worthy. Overall, I just really enjoyed this audio!

Disappointed

I was intrigued by the story but very turned off by the language and by the unnecessarily graphic love scenes. The love scenes were more pornagraphic than loving. Definitely not romantic.

Pause

I am a fan of the author so hard, that once I knew this book was coming out and in audio no less my audiobook loving heart did a pitter patter!

Anna will steal your heart her story will sadden enrage you, but it will also make you want to cheer her on. Her life hasn’t turned out the way she thought it would but her strength in the face of everything is a sight to behold.

Leif surprised me in all of the awesome ways hero’s do. He wasn’t what I was expecting and I loved that. I like being surprised by a character I thought he would be gruff. But he was just Leif and once you know, you know.

I like the way these two fall for each other well its sweet, it isn’t instant and it isn’t planned but it happens and the way they accept it is sweet. Make no mistake the heat is there it is plain to see.

Yes there are some overlapping characters from other books but I completely would call this a standalone.

The narration, though I like Andi it would be nice to have a new narrator for Kylie’s books shake things up a little bit.
I say this because though the characters are not the same the sound of them is and as someone who loves Kylie’s work I listen a lot and they all are starting to sound the same.

Had potential...

Kylie definitely has more talent than most authors of this genre, but man this was rushed. The build up between Anna and Reif was moving along so perfectly (a pleasant surprise)when BAM! End phase 1; Move to phase 2...Que the porn and nasty talk. Blah. Over it.

a lovely friends to lovers

This was a very sweet story. It did have some sad moments but overall it's about overcoming some rough obstacles that life throws at them. Leif is the perfect hero. He's kind, patient, protective and supportive.
Anna has been handed a really raw deal, but I love how strong she is. She sticks up for herself and doesn't back down. She might be a little insecure with all that has happened to her, but she pushes thru. And she finds some great people to support her on her journey, including Leif.
I really enjoyed how they created a friendship first. It made for a story that felt more realistic and not just glamorized.
Andi Arndt delivers a fantastic performance that really brought these characters to life.
