Peach Cobbler Murder
If you like Murder She Wrote on TV you'll love books by Joanne Fluke! Her main character Hannah Swenson, is a coffee and cookie shop owner with a quirky support cast from the town of Lake Eden, Minnesota. The author serves up many delicious recipes along with an entertaining story.
Listening to a Joanne Fluke story is like visiting with friends in Lake Eden. You get to know the characters and can't wait to see what they say and do next.
The audio version is well done too. The woman who reads them does a very good job.

This peach cobbler was made with saccharin
This book is so sickeningly sweet that you will need to schedule a dental appointment afterwards.
I felt as though I was being taught manners by a 70 year old woman with a Swedish accent.
Words were defined for the reader as if English is a second language.
In a fit of anxiety that I would empty my ipod audiobooks over the holidays I overdosed on Joanna Fluke and will never make that mistake again.

Same Sweet Characters, Dollop of Southern Delight
Where does Peach Cobbler Murder rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
It ranks among my favorites because I love the stories, I love the lighthearted and cozy mystery, I adore the fun characters, and I loved the little bit of Southern bits here and there. It just makes me happy.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Peach Cobbler Murder?
One of the most memorable was describing the Southern bakery. The murals, fixtures, glassware, tables, etc. It all makes me wish I had it for myself.
Have you listened to any of Suzanne Toren’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have listened to several of her performances and I think this is one of her best. The Southern accent did not grate my nerves like so many do.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, this is a book I could have listened to in one sitting! I wish I had!

Prefer other
I much prefer Dianne Mott Davidson's food related murder mysteries for cozy reading/listening. I listened to "Peach Cobbler Murder" because I'd exhausted the above. I was disappointed by the characters, especially. I meant to give this two stars and another one 4 stars, but I cannot take back the mistakenly given stars. On to Jaqueline Winspere, whose Maisie Dobbs mysteries get 5 stars in my book!
