Publisher's Summary

British comedian Miranda Hart narrates this touching tale about how much she loves her dog Peggy. And who can blame her? Animal lovers around the world will relate to her humorous anecdotes about the myriad of ways that Peggy has changed her life for the better.

The hilarious and heartwarming account of Miranda and her life changing dog, the inimitable and most lovable Peggy.

Hello dear audiobook browser and welcome to Peggy and Me. The story of my life since getting a beautiful Shih-Tzu Bichon Frise cross puppy (I call the breed a Shitty Frise - fun) in the form of Peggy.

Some of you may be thinking: 'a book about a dog, how totally brilliant, I need hear no more, I'm sold. In which case we should be best friends and go out to tea together, every day.

Others of you may be thinking: 'a book about a dog, how totally mad, she must have officially lost it.' In which case I completely understand. For I once viewed dog owners with much suspicion. The way they obsessively talk about their dogs often using voices for them to reply; the way they have a light covering of dog hair all over their clothes and sofas; and worse, an alarming comfort and ease around excrement.

But I now get why people become so mad about their hounds. It wasn't instant love I have to admit. Getting a puppy when I was at a low ebb in my life wasn't easy - there was a lot of challenging, what I call, dog administration (dog-min), and the humiliating first trip to the vet still haunts me. It's been a bumpy old road, but Peggy has been lovingly by my side through some life changing moments and I wouldn't have coped without her. Most surprisingly she has taught me a huge amount - not how to get an old pie packet out of a bin and lick it (I could already do that), but real lessons about life and love and trust and friendship.

Put aside any doggy reservations and come walkies with Peggy and me....

Recommended to all who are looking for love!

I overheard my English friend recommend this book to a mutual friend who has many dogs coming and going in her home, as she cares for them for others and adores them, always showing us photos! Our English friend who recommended Peggy & Me is a fan of Miranda Hart, but has never had a pet. She loved the book and said it was so funny. Miranda Hart's Peggy & Me is not only funny; it is touching and is full of life lessons. We just lost our Shih-Tzu Maltese Cross after 16 years of family love and joy. I could relate to so much of what Miranda had to say, and listening to the audio version reminded me of our Mikey - playing with our son, his squeaky toy, and barking when someone came to the door. Having a dog brings so much to your life. They make you get out of the house and meet people - even if you only know them by the dog's name (Molly's mom) - you smell the mornings, you decompress after work, you notice the ducks and other birds and the plant life, and you watch the sky. You also bond with your dog as you walk together. Miranda is much more eloquent and complete at explaining the wonderment of having a dog for a pet than I am. That unconditional love that you get from your dog is like nothing else. Obviously, because my English friend never had a pet and loved this book, it is for those who own dogs and those who don't. I recommend this book for all who are looking for love.

Love love love!

I enjoyed listening to Miranda’s delightful book on the way to and from work and school. Her cheerful and funny narration made me smile and laugh and feel good when I arrived at my destination. I think I can say with the utmost certainty, without knowing her personally (I wish!) that Miranda is a wonderful and fantastic person. Money and time well spent! Thank you to Miranda and her team, and especially to Peggy for inspiring this witty novel xo Elina
