Publisher's Summary

The captivating and unforgettable saga of the Dollanganger family continues in Petals On the Wind, the New York Times bestselling sequel to Flowers in the Attic and the inspiration behind the Lifetime original movie and “tortured love story” (Variety).

Forbidden love comes into full bloom. For three years they were kept hidden in the eaves of Foxworth Hall, their existence all but denied by a mother who schemed to inherit a fortune. For three years their fate was in the hands of their righteous, merciless grandmother. They had to stay strong…but in their hopeless world, Cathy and her brother, Christopher, discovered blossoming desires that tumbled into a powerful obsession. Now, with their frail sister, Carrie, they have broken free and scraped together enough for three bus tickets and a chance at a new life. The horrors of the attic are behind them…but they will carry its legacy of dark secrets forever.

My Fave VC Andrew Series

I first read this series when it came out in the 80s. It's always my fallback when I've got nothing else to read or listen to. So I've read the many republications of the book and the new covers that come along. I still have the original Flower's in the Attic book, which has seen better days

The story captured my young heart back then, and still to this day, I always shed a few tears for what happened to those young children and what they carried on into adulthood.

I felt Catherine's (Cathy) emotions as she dealt with the betrayal of the women who was suppose to love them unconditionally, and cried when Carrie ran to her mother and was met with cold eyes denying she was her mother. Then, when Carrie took her own life fe the same way Cory died, it was another heartbreaking failure on the mothers part

I'm so glad it was available in audio. The narrator was fantastic and nade listening very enjoyable.
Can't wait to listen to the rest of the series.

Enjoy and Happy Listening

Drags on

Definitely couldn’t compare to its prequel, alot of mundane things happening. Nothing of particular interest. Too long, I didn’t care for the narrator. I did not like the character voices she did or her voice in general. Not too happy with the purchase but, oh well.
