After being court-martialed by the Space Legion for ordering the strafing of a treaty-signing ceremony, multimillionaire Willard Phule receives his punishment: He must command the misfit Omega Company on Haskin's Planet, a mining settlement on the edge of settled space. At his duty station, he leverages his personal money and a knack for managing people to get the company to come together as a unit. Phule convinces the governor to leave the contract for an honorary duty up for competition between the Space Legionnaires and the Regular Army. The Army sends some of their most elite troops to take part in the competition, but Phule's company operates with their own unique tactics....

Chose this because of fond memories reading the myth series eons ago. Phule doesn't match the prolific humour of Myths but it is quite fun. I shorted the grade on Story mainly because there is a huge mismatch between the idiot introduced and the commander that is the story. Not being specific to avoid spoilers but the original incident is so egregious that it's really impossible to forget, which taints it for me somewhat. Regardless, if you're an Asprin fan you won't resent the listen. If you're not, seek help immediately. Note: this is one of the best narrators in the industry and he does a great job here as well.

Great story, well written. It’s a fun listen. I have read the book multiple times but it’s a whole new experience to listen to it. Performance was great with the characters brought to life. Can’t wait to hear the rest of the series. A+++!

A Favourite!

You just know a book is interesting when the protagonists career is said to really begin at his court martial. His first court martial. I've read this book a good half dozen times, so when they released the audio I was in heaven. I just wish there was an Omega Mob to join. This is one author you wont regret listening to. Unless you dislike puns. Then you'll hate it. You have been warned. #Audible1

This audio book has everything. Comedy, a great narrator and very well thought out characters! The author ties up everything in a nice neat bow. A great book and I’m having fun listening to the series. In my opinion one of the best audio books of 2023.
