Norman Vincent Peale's groundbreaking self-help classic, The Power of Positive Thinking, has dramatically transformed countless lives throughout the world with its powerful message of constructive affirmation. Positive Imaging builds on the principles originally presented in Dr. Peale's life-changing, multimillion-copy best seller, offering step-by-step guidance that will help you break through the barriers that stand in the way of achieving the harmony, happiness, and success you so fervently desire.

In this essential volume, Dr. Peale takes the positive thinking idea a step further. By employing a potent mental process called "imaging", you can eliminate problems and take firm control of your life. Keeping a clear and vivid picture of a desired goal in your mind until it becomes part of your subconscious will help you actualize your objectives by releasing previously untapped inner energies. With Positive Imaging you can banish fear and loneliness, strengthen and gain new confidence in your interpersonal relationships, improve your health, and eliminate your financial worries. The path to mental and physical wellness, spiritual well-being, and overall success in life is opening up right in front of you - let Dr. Peale show you the way.

Listen and change your life!

The concepts in this book are consistent with what I have found to be true in my own life. Imagining the future, then praying about it, and having faith; has a freaky way of coming to fruition (Not always as imagined, but close, and sometimes better). You will not regret purchasing this book.

Lifts Your Outlook

Filled with many stories and anecdotes, this book painted a brighter picture of myself, the world that I live in and my place in it. Gave me hope in changing the way that I see myself others and situations. Was very encouraging, soothing and uplifting. Warrants more than one listen.

Athletes use it - why shouldn't you?

What made the experience of listening to Positive Imaging the most enjoyable?

First of all it's an enjoyable slice of American History so people need to take partly in the historical context of the time and helps us understand the underlying attitudes that helped get the country so successfully through two world wars and a great depression. The techniques are widely used by great athletes, performers and leaders today.

While positive imaging has been around since people as a helpful tool and way of life, Norman Vincent Peale codified and popularized it. Why not listen to the source material so many others have taken from? If you can, find some other books also which are recorded with Peales amusing and unmistakable midwestern Americana voice of the time ( the voice here is not Dr. Peales in this book but is pleasant enough to listen to - do try to find other audio books however with Peales famous voice as there are some for his other novels). Peales books are authentic treasures and will help you understand the American past and connect the dots as to why so much success occurred at the time. Dr. Peale was a Christian preacher - the underlying message is universal to all humanity and all readers of different religions or non religions are welcome to the underlying positive imaging.

Great!!!

So many of great non-fiction books lose their power when the wrong person is the narrator. This one is the opposite. The voice and tone is a perfect match for the content. Highly recommend!

Some overlap with "The Power of Positive Thinking"

Some anecdotes appear in both books. I found the Power of Positive Thinking to be rather mind-opening. Having well stewed with the wisdom therein, this Positive Imaging book then added less than I hoped; there is a certain repetitiveness in the stories contained here. Spoiler: person X visualized Y happening, put sincere faith in the outcome, and sure enough, Y happened. That said, I still recommend the book because this mindset is worth spending some hours thinking about. Sure, the summary of the book is in the title, "The Power of Positive Imaging", but you will benefit from indulging in listening to the whole book. BTW whether you are religious or not has, I think, almost no bearing on how much you will enjoy this book.

Religious and Sexist, but not all Bad

I feel like this book needs a warning. Along with a general sexist disclaimer. It had some cliche advice with a kick in the pants, which is always useful. However- I expected better. I realize the date of the writing might explain its sexist tone, but it's not so funny here especially with it's air of superiority. Additionally, books like How to Win Friends...from around the same time period, at rerelease edited some of it's sexist tone. I expected more from this book with all it's Bible verses. I recommend not purchasing this book, skip it and borrow it from a library. I'm sure they'll have it.
