Publisher's Summary

He saved me from a vengeful wolf but became a monster to do it. And now I’ve lost him. My Viking. My Alek.

Locked away in Novasgard, he’s beyond reach. I have no way to find him. No way to tell him about my secret. About the two words that changed everything. To make matters worse, Noah and Caleb want nothing to do with me now that they know. Two little words, and I’m on the verge of losing them.

My confessor. My berserker. My prince. My alpha…the only one remaining by my side.

A couple months ago, my biggest worry was finding my wolf. Now, we’re dealing with demons, and fending off attacks from the fae. For every enemy we defeat, more lurk in the shadows. The one thing they all have in common? They’re after me. We’re not safe anywhere, and there’s something dark and powerful inside me—something only Alek can help me control. I have to get him back to fix what’s broken between all of us. Because if I’ve learned anything since coming to Ravenscroft, it’s that I’m not going to survive this without my mates. All four of them.

Warning: This series is not for the faint of heart. It contains an obsessive stalker, a foul-mouthed, inked and pierced werewolf, a naughty professor with a fondness for watching, a god of mischief, and plenty of heat. If you don’t like your books spicy, your men broody, built, and more bad than good, this is not the series for you. But if you do, listen on, and welcome to The Mate Games.

The performances are perfection

Absolutely beautifully performed and spectacularly cast. I can’t rave enough about the voice work on this. It really brings the story to life. The multiple voices are extremely well integrated- impeccably done.

All audiobooks should be this good.

During the fight at the end of the second book, Alek turned berserker and was taken to his homeland by his father. Sunday is left with only three of her mates, and not for long as Caleb decides once again to keep his distance from her, and Noah freaks out when he finds out that Sunday is pregnant, because if the baby is half-vampire and half-shifter, it will mean the death of Sunday and the baby. Not letting any of this stop her, Sunday embarks on a seemingly impossible mission to find a way to enter Novasgard to go get Alek and bring him back to her side, while keeping on having to fight and evade the faes and demons who are hunting her and trying to capture and/or kill her.

Thankfully, Sunday is a strong and resilient woman, because she will need this mental strength to survive the temporary loss of her mates. She is not ready to just let them go though, and she will fight tooth and nail to get the happy ending they all deserve.

This book focuses more on Alek, his past, the reason he was at Ravenscroft, and also his relationship with his family. I admit that Tor annoyed me at first, I thought he was nothing more than the typical jealous twin out to get revenge on his brother, but I like how despite their insults and mean teasing, Tor and Alek have each others’ back, and they will stop at nothing to protect each other from a real threat.

The plot was more developed in this this book, but there is still a lot of hot smut, and it remains a highly entertaining, quick-read series that any RH and paranormal lover should enjoy.

Great story and characters! Very hot! 🥵🔥🤩

This book is the third in the Mate Games Series. I really enjoy all the characters, they have just enough depth, humour, wit and sass. The heroine has great répartie and her relationship with each of her mates is unique and filled with sexy and funny banter. The narrators are perfection. Totally worth your credit!! 🤩

So good!

The audiobook narration was top-notch with the cast of multiple narrators, which I found really enhanced the listening experience. I highly recommend this series. A great why choose spicy paranormal romance read.

Steady decline

In an effort to create tension, the authors sacrificed the main character and made her insufferable. Sunday has become someone you actively dislike because everything she says and does is rooted in pure selfishness and disrespect. She has no respect for Alec or Caleb and is entirely set on having her harem of men regardless of whether or not they want the same thing. All she cares about is what she wants. As far as she is aware, Alec voluntarily left because he was overcome with his Berserker side and couldn't be trusted to control himself enough not to hurt innocent people. Did Sunday respect that and give him the time and space he needed? NOPE! Sunday is fully aware that Caleb will lose his job if he gets too close to her and he asks her to please give him space. Does she respect that? NOPE! She actually even says that he should choose her over his precious job. The audacity and entitlement is unparalleled. On top of that, she keeps saying that they have this strong bond rooted in love, but all she ever does is try to use her body and sex to control the men around her and get what she wants. Hell, she can't even tell the difference between Alec and his twin. You call that love? You call that mates?! Her behaviour and attitude in this book actually made me doubt that the mate bonds were real. How can they be when she disrespects her mates and their wishes so much? It just doesn't add up.

The truth is, sometimes love is letting people go even when you don't want to. Love is having patience and respecting boundaries, even when it hurts. Sunday doesn't give a single feck about her mates; not really. If she did, she wouldn't constantly put her needs above theirs. This attitude bleeds into her relationship with her friends as well, having her witch friends perform dangerous spells for her own selfish desires. There were times when Kingston, Noah and Caleb even call her out on her behaviour and she barely even acknowledges the truthfulness of their words before steamrolling ahead. It has gotten to the point where I am genuinely trying to understand what Sunday brings to the table that make these men love her so much. Would they love her if it wasn't fated? Is she funny? Is she kind? Is she courageous? The answer, particularly in this book, is no. They are together because of an outside force, not real love, and it is very difficult as a reader to invest in that. They should also be people worth loving outside of the mating bond, and she just isn't in this book. And that sucks because I didn't see Sunday this way in the previous books. I liked her and I thought she had this balance between being basically new to the magical world and finding a strong voice within it. Now... she grates on me so much it took me a month to get through this book compared to 2-3 days for the previous ones. I really think the authors could have gotten to the same end result without butchering Sunday's character, but they chose the easiest route forward. It's a shame.

As for the boys, I imagine readers are getting tired of Caleb in this book, but he has the burden of knowing that Sunday and her baby are basically the bringers of doom, so I actually find the constant pull he feels between his mate bond and saving the world to be sincere. Noah is notably absent in this book, he's basically become a soft boy on a leash with no personality. Alec is also non-existent which is brutal because not much time was given to him in the previous books to make his mate bond with Sunday as solid or realistic compared to the others. As for Kingston, he's always been my favourite and my appreciation for him grows with every book. JF Harding does an exceptional job and I have been actively seeking out his work because of how well he voices Kingston.

If you are considering this book or the series, I guess my advice would be to get it, but go in with lower expectations than the previous books. Be ready to ignore plot holes, be ready to change how you feel about characters. At the very least, you get more Kingston who is the real star of this series anyway as well as more multi-partner spice.

Can’t wait for the end

This one was just too much for me, found myself skipping the sex scenes 🫠. At this point I’m invested and just want to know the ending of the story. I was tired of the ridiculous amount of sex and lack of story in this one and sunny annoyed me. I’m hopping as I start the next one it’s better but if not at least the series will be done.
