Story
For the last three years, I've lived and breathed hockey with one goal: team captain. There's only one thing standing in my way. TJ Beckett. Beck is irresponsible and immature, and I've hated him since the moment we met freshman year. Yet the coaches see something in him I obviously can't, and they refuse to choose between us. The captain spot is going to a team vote. And the team thinks that what we need are a bunch of challenges to prove our worth.

Story
It turns out making out with my best friend in high school could be considered gay. Who knew? Apparently, everyone but me. Now that it's been pointed out, I can't help reliving it in my head. Repeatedly. Good-bye Denial Town, hello Confusionville. When my path leads me down the gay dating app route, I don't expect to meet anyone I like, but then I meet him. He can't be more opposite than me. He's smart, he hates hockey, and he identifies as demi - something I've never heard of. Yet I can't deny something's there.

Hockey, studying, and school runs. That's my life now. After a tragic accident that took our parents' lives, it's up to me and my big brother to take care of our five younger siblings. In between burning their meals and keeping them from killing each other, I'm supposed to get a college degree. If I don't get my grades up, I'm in danger of losing the one thing that makes me happy: my spot on the hockey team.

Milo. Unusual. Quirky. Different. I’ve heard it all. I’ve accepted I’m not for everyone. When I find out I inherited a bookstore and apartment on a small East Coast island, I jump at the chance for a new life. Turns out I’ve also inherited a sexy, tattooed guy who not only rents the space next to my store but my apartment too. Gideon. I wasn’t looking for a roommate, but it’s not like I can stay at Milo’s place while he’s banished to a hotel. According to Milo, we’re bestie goals. Story
The fall from NHL superstar to domestic disaster was swift and painful. When I became the legal guardian of my five younger siblings, I had no idea what I was doing. One year later, I'm still lost. Coaching CU's hockey team might be the only thing I'm excelling at. But when our star forward is failing math, I have to do what it takes to keep him on the team. Even if it's going head-to-head with Jasper Eckstein. One minute I'm confronting the notorious hockey-hating professor, and the next I'm agreeing to be his date to a twenty-year high school reunion. I don't know how that happened.

Look, I left LA for a reason. I’ve had my fill of big Hollywood stars and their even bigger egos. I want something genuine. Something real. And it doesn’t get any realer than being the new sheriff of Aster Valley, Colorado. That is, until entitled Finn Heller appears on the scene, handing me the keys to his convertible like I’m his personal servant. The former child star and wannabe action hero is the hottest thing I’ve ever seen. He’s also a snarky party animal with legions of adoring fans and attitude for days. Or so I thought.

When Talon left to play pro ball six years ago, the hole in my chest confused me. I focused my heartache into making my own NFL dreams come true, and by the time I was drafted, the longing I had for my best friend was buried deep. Now, he wants everything to be like it was in college, but we can't have threesomes and be reckless like we once were. The media storm would be enough to break both our careers. That's not my biggest concern, though. The torch I had for him burns brighter after so long apart, and there's nothing I can do about it. Marcus Talon is straight.

When it comes to hockey, I'm all about the game. I've worked for years to be one of the best in the league, and l've done it without splashing my orientation all over the tabloids. My hockey image is one I've carefully cultivated, and after one night with Ezra Palaszczuk, I risk it all. He's cocky, obnoxious, and has an ego bigger than Massachusetts. And okay, maybe he's the sexiest man I've ever known. We'll never get along. Not when we sleep together. Not even when my possessive streak awakens. That doesn't stop us from falling into bed together over and over again.

The worst part of being in love with my straight best friend is the fact he’s too oblivious to see it. Years of pining have left me exhausted, and I need a break from Dex. I need space to get over my feelings. But when his relationship falls apart and he turns to me for comfort, I cave immediately. If there’s one thing I hate more than being hurt, it’s seeing Dex struggle. I can’t leave him in a time of need, even if my friends say it’s my biggest downfall. They say Dexter Mitchale is my weakness, but if that’s true, I don’t want to be strong.

I've been in love with my best friend since forever. Okay, fine. Like, kindergarten. It started out platonic, obviously, but then became.... Nope. Still platonic. The problem is that Parker Ellis has been straight since forever. And that makes it difficult to convince him that the two of us are meant to be together. And now, there's no point. All is lost. He's gone and gotten engaged to his high-school sweetheart - which means I have to grin and bear it, while pretending to be the happy, supportive best man, while he prepares to commit his life to a woman.

Despite a flourishing career as a defenseman for the Atlanta Venom, Tristan Holt knows he can’t play hockey forever. One day he’ll retire and finish his business degree. But he doesn’t count on a very inappropriate attraction to his standoffish sociology professor, Sebastian Cruz. Sebastian has his sights set on tenure, and he can’t afford to be distracted, especially not by a sexy student with a body straight out of Sebastian’s dreams. No matter how much Tristan tempts him, that’s one line Sebastian won’t cross. At least, not until summer classes end.

Publisher's Summary
Foster:
"Look out for Zach, and don't hit on him." My brother's request sounds easy enough. Keep an eye out for his best friend on campus and keep my hands to myself. Easy. Even if Zach is a quintessential nerd, who I've always thought was cute, I don't have the time to think with my...stick. There's only one stick I should be focused on this year, and that's my hockey stick. My goal once I graduate is to get an NHL contract. The last thing I need is a distraction. On or off the ice. Only, keeping to the rules is harder than I thought it would be.
Zach:
People confuse me. And no one more than Foster Grant. I've barely spoken two words to him in the whole time I've known him, but the second I step foot on campus, he's impossible to shake. I can never anticipate his next move. And whenever we're together, my next move is a total mystery as well. I want to give in to him, but that might mean coming clean about something I've never been bothered about before. I'm still carrying my V-card. And I think it's time to turn it in.
Contains mature themes.

The voices....
I had a hard time listening to this book. The story is well enough, but I might read the rest instead of listening.
I'm not sure who reads for who since both narrators are new to me. But which ever voices Foster needs to learn to take a breath. It was hard figuring out which was dialog, and what wasn't because he never let there be space in between. He talked a million miles per minute.
As for Zack's voice... I didn't like it.
There was also this issue where both narrators didn't accommodate for the change of different characters' dialog. It was hard to tell who was speaking... except for the coach and the horrible, disgusting woman voices. Ugh... that was super ugly.
It really felt like this book wasn't taken seriously. Neither in plot or in casting.
As for the story... Eh, it was okay. There was nothing that got my blood pumping, wondering, waiting for what will happen. It was predictable and a little boring.

Another Great from Eden Finley
After the Fake Boyfriend series, Finley has become an auto buy for me. Adding James as co-author worked well. I love the story and These two narrators hit it out of the park.
I have listened to many audio books over time and the combination of Iggy Toma and Alexander Cendese just clicks. Their voices enhance the story like no other.
Hockey and young love is like crack to me. And these young men come to life in the book. I’ve read this book multiple times already and I’m thrilled it’s now in audio book format.

Incredibly Sweet Romance
So damn cute! I've read a couple of Eden Finley's books before and found them a little agressive (in a good way), and way heavy on the sex - this one is super sweet. Twenty-one year old guys, actually acting twenty-one. What a great idea.
The hockey scenes are short and easy to follow, if you're not into hockey you'll be fine. The story is mainly about Foster courting Zach, and adorably nerdy Zach's first foray into love. Nicely done!
Wonderfully performed by Iggy and Alexander.

This is such a well written story that honestly is so easy to relate to, feel the highs and lows, and love the characters! I typically am able to listen here and there, but this book has you (or shall I say me) completely wanting more and more. Thank you once again to Eden Finley and Saxon James for a terrific and suspenseful story chapter by chapter! Loved it!!! 4.5
Hate the cover, loved the story. A breath of fresh air after the snooze-fest I'd just read.
Foster is a riot. Zach is the sweetest. Amazing complements to a fun MM romance 💜
And the narrators? Spot on! Especially Alexander! I hate his female voices, but other than that, he owned the character.

Narration makes this a struggle
Loved this story (so far my favorite of the series!) The narration is kinda rough though. I really enjoyed half the narration. Iggy Toma is great! I struggle with Alexander Cendese though… Based on other reviews this may be a personal problem, but I struggle hard with the pacing, he reads about twice as fast as Iggy and his side character voices sound like caricatures. His coach voice sounds EXACTLY like the history teacher in Daria, and the father voices he does sound like a sea captain… I actually like his voice though, it’s just a super awkward fit for me.

So good, but for what?
I was sure this was gonna be a five star read because the characters were fantastic and the writing was great. But by the end I realized I was probably gonna forget I read this pretty quickly. Aside from getting over some insecurities, nothing really happened. No real conflict or drama of any consequence, and so I likely won’t remember this one… sadly.
