À propos de cet audio

An innocent man is accused of murder. His enemies want blood. Criminal defense attorney Tex Hunter is the only hope he has left.

Robert Sulzberger appeared to have a perfect life—a respected position in the City Council, a lovely family, a house with all the trimmings—but behind the façade, his life was crumbling. Drawn into a world of crime and corruption, Sulzberger couldn't find a way out. He couldn't escape. And when he tried to walk away, he found himself behind bars. The trial captures the media's attention, and the dark forces of politics are thrown into the limelight. As the son of a convicted serial killer, Tex Hunter knows just how dangerous those forces can be.

Hunter battles against deception, fraud, and cover-ups, risking everything in the most difficult case of his career. Can justice triumph against corruption? Or will the dark side of politics bury the truth forever?

Power and Justice is the first book in this high-stakes legal thriller series. It can be enjoyed as a standalone novel or part of the heart-pounding Tex Hunter Legal Thriller series.

Peter O'Mahoney writes a somewhat sophomoric thriller that's a bit heavy with legal details (including numbered descriptions of statutory case law, for example: "You've been charged under Illinois Penal Code 141.3 subsection 2.1-4."). Kinda irrelevant.
The vocabulary/prose is otherwise capable and O'Mahoney fashions interesting characters, but I found the plotting - surrounding the murder of a young prostitute in a famous Reality TV Star's basement - amateurish.

As to presentation: reader Joe Knezevich displays professional diction, comfortable timbre, and creditable voice-acting.. but takes intermittent loud deep breaths and is somewhat over-the-top with his dead-serious tone. Someone needs to tell Knezevich that his children's lives don't hinge on the outcome of the trial. Podium Audio Inc. cast this project "adequately".

Altogether, 'Power and Justice' merits 6.5 stars out of 10. It was an enjoyable distraction for a couple of quiet afternoons - and well worth a listen for free - but doesn't rate a Credit should they ask for one. I won't be continuing with the 'Tex Hunter Legal Thriller' series.

Not Terrible

Narration was good, the story was good, but the character was not formidable…he is no Lincoln lawyer.

Meh

Ending leaves one to want the story to continue Thank you for being free I Like the author uses male narrators.

The characters are so real not like romance or happy ever after ish. I binge on his books

Could not listen. I'm probably not the target audience tough - I think the story and the narrator would appeal to men more.

ZZZZZZzzzzz
