Publisher's Summary

Recalled from the Great Crusade after Ullanor, Rogal Dorn and the VIIth Legion were appointed as the Emperor's praetorians - but only after the Warmaster's treachery was revealed did the full extent of that sacred duty become apparent.

Now, the Solar System comes under attack for the first time since the war began, and many of the seemingly impregnable defences wrought by the Imperial Fists prove inadequate. With all eyes fixed firmly upon this new threat beyond the gates of Terra, who in turn will protect Dorn from the enemy within?

Fantastic stuff.

Fantastic performance. The second act is a bit slow, and certain action sequences echo each other, but the climax is absolutely phenomenal and emotional. Leaves a lot of questions to be asked about what really transpired. 9/10.

not the end, but maybe the beginning of the end

The enemy are at the gates and amongst the loyal. They are here, have always been here. Its the way they fight, the alpha legion have planned for every contingent, anticipated every angle, devised every move.... that is except for Rogal Dorn. This is as good a book that has ever come out of a board game. There's intrigue, action, and character. The horus heresy can be a money grubbing mess at times, but this one stands out like a Ruby in Dorns armor.

VII

I love the fists and I have a better appreciation for the Alpha legion now. I like how ambiguous the ending is.

What a twist!

Actually, I got spoiled by a youtube video about what would happen on this story and I read thinking I already know what will happen in the end. But then I actually got it wrong and I was pleasantly surprised of the outcome.

I like the Imperial Fists now lol

This book is really good and gives the Alpha Legion a lot of love even if the ending bums me out. I didn't like the Imperial Fists until now but I guess I'll move Dark Angels to the new least favorite legion.

Bad file

Bad recording. Frequently cut out and was incomprehensible at times. The parts I did hear were very good.

Alpha Legion Explored

Great story that sheds light on Rogal Dorn but also examines the Alpha Legion at many levels

I am Alpharius?

Awesome spy story and background, never much cared for Dorn until now and the book puts the events of Legion into perspective, in that Alpha Legion is losing their minds. Book description didn't do this one justice, not what was expected and that's for the better. Easily somewhere in top ten for the series.
