At first, I wasn’t sure I liked this book. However, the more I listened to it, the more I liked it and appreciated how great it truly is. The narrator also has a great voice that relaxes me. I’ll definitely be listening to this one numerous times.

This book was an absolute pleasure to listen to — thoughtful, practical, and deeply meaningful. Keller has a gift for taking big theological ideas and making them feel accessible and relevant without ever watering them down. It’s rich, but not heavy. Every chapter left me with something to reflect on or apply right away.

The book is deeply rooted in Scripture and aligned beautifully with my Reformed (Dutch Reformed/Presbyterian) background, yet it never feels dry or academic. Instead, it invites a more vibrant, honest, and awe-filled prayer life — one that’s grounded in who God is, not just how we feel.

The narration is calm and clear, with a perfect pace for absorbing the material. I often found myself pausing to reflect or pray. I enjoyed the audiobook so much that I bought a physical copy just to mark it up and return to certain passages more slowly.

Whether you’re new to prayer or have been a Christian for years, this is the kind of book that deepens both your understanding and your desire to pray. Highly recommended.

As a long-time Timothy Keller fan, and having read the book already, this was a great way to hear/review the book!

The performance by Sean Pratt captured the tone and voice of the original author well, very obviously someone who has heard Timothy Keller speak before.

Something I will definitely keep in my library to re-listen in busy seasons coming up as a Christian, as it is a great reminder and overview of the history, culture, and Biblical insight on the topic of prayer.

Recommended for any skeptics and Christians interested on the topic of prayer!
