Help, hope, and spiritual strength for the mom in the trenches.

Moms today have a lot to handle! It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the responsibility of raising a family, especially in a culture that’s spiraling away from Christianity at an alarming speed. Yet our God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. The battle belongs to him, and his strength shines bright when we bring our weaknesses to Him and simply say, “Here. I can’t, but You can.”

Prayers for the Battlefield is a collection of prayers and reflections to help you stay strong through the daily challenges of motherhood. Whether you’re a new mom or a soon-to-be empty nester, Heidi St. John writes Scripture-filled and Spirit-infused prayers for every season of motherhood, helping you raise God-fearing children who will live out their love for Christ and make a difference in our world.

Let God determine the outcome of the battles you’re facing today - because the ultimate victory belongs to him.

Raising a family in this generation has forced me into a battlefield.

Raising a family in this generation has forced me into a battlefield. The opinions of others are continually being hurled at me. Whether it's a stranger at the grocery store, a concerned relative, or acquaintances on social media, I feel constantly bombarded with conflicting ideas of how to raise my kids well. There is no doubt that "we are at a cultural crossroads, and the battle for the minds and hearts of our children is raging all around us".

Through "Prayers for the Battlefield", Heidi St. John has breathed hope and inspiration into my heart. Through her transparent writing she acknowledges the fears, heartaches, and frustrations of parenthood, while at the same time gently prompting us out of despondency and into our armour. She has encouraged me to receive wisdom from God's Word - my sword for battle.

Prayers for the Battlefield is based on the analogy that our children are as arrows in the hands of a warrior (Psalm 127). Each chapter begins with scripture and ends with a heartfelt prayer, both pertinent to the story Heidi writes in between. Every segment is relevant to the hearts of mothers in today's culture.

"Prayers for the Battlefield" is more than a battle cry. It is a shout of triumph for the daily victories!! It can be read from cover to cover as a learning resource. It can be used as a reference for truth in specific times of need. It can be used as a daily devotional to enlighten and encourage.

My heart echoes this prayer that Heidi prays: "Sometimes I wonder why You give inexperienced women like me the privilege of raising Your children, but I want to train them well. Help me to shape my arrows with good teaching. Help me to immerse them in Your Word. May they fly far and true, and may they have an eternal impact for the Kingdom.......Give me patience for the times when I feel like I can't lift my bow. Give me peace for when the battle seems more than I can bear. And give me courage to release my arrows when the time is right."
