Publisher's Summary

Isabella Milan is a 20-year survivor who has experienced a breast cancer stage IV diagnosis and has come out shining. Bruised, battered, and emotionally and physically drained, she was still able to get through all the challenges. After completing 3 degrees, including a Masters in Sports and Clinical Psychology and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, Isabella found a sweetheart after being introduced to what she thought was the perfect man, who was completing his residency as a medical doctor in surgery.

On the outside, everything seemed perfect. Her spouse finished his residency during this time and began training in a number of specialties, including kidney and liver transplantation. After living a healthy life, her first battle was with pre-breast cancer in 2004, resulting in a mastectomy of the right breast and reconstructive surgery. In 2005, Stage 2 breast cancer was found in the left breast, resulting in another mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with stage IV metastatic breast cancer in her brain in 2008. Once a beautiful model with a promising career, she now faced a life-threatening issue.

After she had a relapse and a hospital stay, her husband had many caregivers in their home to take care of their son and manage the household. She was sent to California, where her family resided, in a diaper and a wheelchair.

What she believed was an unfailing love became his mission—to not only divorce her but to take their child and leave her virtually penniless. Feeling powerless, Isabella turned to God and kept her faith.

Culminating in the memoir "Praying for a Miracle When It is Hopeless," which tells the story of overcoming breast cancer, going through financial hardship, and realizing that holding onto faith through the worst of times will eventually lead to finding true love of oneself. She provides tips that helped her survive her journey.
