There are two schools of thought for encouraging babies to sleep through the night: the hotly debated Ferber technique of letting the baby "cry it out", or the grin-and-bear-it solution of getting up from dusk to dawn as often as necessary. If you don't believe in letting your baby cry it out, but desperately want to sleep, there is now a third option, presented in Elizabeth Pantley's sanity-saving audiobook The No-Cry Sleep Solution.

Story
The Happy Sleeper shows parents how to avoid and undo cumbersome sleep habits, putting their babies and little kids on track to a full night's sleep. Heather Turgeon and Julie Wright teach parents that babies have an innate capacity to self-soothe, as well as the brain machinery to sleep well. So why do many families struggle at night? Most do what works today, but don't notice when it's no longer needed tomorrow, and then push harder when it becomes a hindrance the day after that.

Life/sleep savior!
Unlike some other sleep books, Alexis doesn’t “talk” down to you about all the things you are failing to do. She talks like a caring, funny, cheerleader of a friend who is giving you skills but also reassuring you that you are an awesome parent. I owe her my sleep for helping me with my first child, and again I’m seeking her wisdom with my second. Cannot recommend this book highly enough!

Alexis gets it.
It is clear that she deeply understands the struggles of being a parent and trying to navigate life with a newborn. Her advice is backed not only by experience in the trenches but by science. She has methods and recommendations for all types of situations and temperaments of babies. I can’t thank her enough for the gift of independent sleep that she has given both my children - and me! Read this book, follow her guidance and immediately throw all your other baby sleep guides in the recycling. As an added bonus, her sense of humour is impeccable and speaks directly to the hearts of parents that have been pacing the room, patting their babies bum and shhhhhing them for 2 hours while they quietly enjoy nibbling a single cracker for dinner.

Very funny and informative, gives parents lots of options
I chose this as my free trial audible book and I am so pleased with my choice! I have listened to a lot of sleep-related audiobooks and some of them are so drab and boring, mostly because they are not narrated by the author themselves. This author actually took the time to narrate a 8 hour long book and it makes such a difference! The tone and the humor makes those 8 hours go by fast instead of dragging on and on. And I definitely skipped some chapters that did not apply to my situation, something you can’t always do with other audiobooks so thanks Audible! There is so much good information in this book, that I think the hardest part is knowing what to apply to your specific situation. I have listened to several chapters but I am just now applying some of the strategies. Hopefully it helps!

Useless annoying book
I just want two hours of my life back listening to this nonsense. There is zero information on this book that is actionable and which won’t come up on the first page of a generic google search “how to make my baby sleep better”. The author think she is funny, she is mostly not, so you have to sit thru pages of jokes and listen to her uninteresting experience. There is a lot of touchy-feely drivel but absolutely nothing new or subtantive which couldn’t be conveyed through 5 bullet bullets.
