Publisher's Summary

The book was hidden well.

Its pages promised the power of the Witch-King himself.

And now that it’s been found, even the fact that it kills anyone foolish enough to crack its cover won’t stop people from fighting over it.

Welcome to the Bloodstone Lands!

Human assassin Artemis Entreri and his dark elf companion Jarlaxle have come to the demon-haunted wastelands of the frozen north at the request of their dragon patron. It doesn’t take long for them to find themselves caught in the middle of a struggle between powerful forces that would like nothing more than to see them both dead...or worse.

But Entreri and Jarlaxle aren’t just any wandering sellswords, and the ancient evils and bitter blood-feuds of the wild Bloodstone Lands may have finally met their match.

they changed the narrator!!!

I absolutely love these books, I have read the whole Drizzit series and decided to listen to them to get a new perspective on these books. That being said, changing the narrator 16 books in is booty!! And it's only this book! the next one Victor Bevine is narrating! I dont really like Male narrators but I find I absolutely love Victor Bevine. I'm just gonna tough this one out but just know that I am not happy about it.

Great series!

I am starting to become a bigger fan of Artimus Anterie and his character's Evolution over the Dritzz Do Urdan series. also the narration of this book is really good. Victor Bevine has a much better range of voices and inflections then most books I have listened to.

Another Great Story

This series follows Jarlaxell and Enterie on their adventures separate from the main characters. The story was excellent and the character study of both characters was very interesting. This series is a nice break from the rest of the books because it explores in detail the other characters.

Artemis info

I really like this story filled in a lot of blanks in the relationship between Artemis and jarlaxle.

Not what I was expecting.

If you’re expecting to hear a story about the heroes of the Dale, this isn’t that. The story was okay but it seemed like the author jumped in with both feet and introduced a lot of characters at once.

The recording change volume levels many times and was difficult to hear while in my vehicle with headphones and over the car audio via Bluetooth.

Fire the sound technician

The story was great but the audio levels were horrible throughout. The narrator would change character voices and it was quieter and hard to hear and then the next character voice (always the dwarf) would be twice as loud. It was very poor editing and sound design.

I love Salvatore fantasy because of the twists, turns, and 360s. You will continue to be hooked.

Amazing Book. I really relate to Jarlaxle!

I think out of everyone Mr. Salvatore has created Jarlaxle is by far the one I wish I could be. Every time I play d&d I always end up as a charasmatic Rogue. it's just so much fun to play. with this series really focusing on him and Enterari it lets me get a better look at the asymmetrical drow.
