The story line has great potential but I find the lack of action made it come to a standstill. it seemed to drag on. Maybe the next book in the series is better?

Promised in Fire by Jasmine Walt was an enjoyable listen! The mix of fantasy, adventure, and romance kept me hooked, and the audiobook narration made it even better.

Narration & Performance:
The duet narration by Jake Bordeaux and Bridget Bordeaux was one of the highlights for me. I love when audiobooks have two narrators instead of just one, and they both did a great job bringing the characters to life. Their voices fit the roles well, and the chemistry between them made the story feel more immersive.

Story & Characters:
The plot follows Adara, a water fae struggling with her powers, and Einar, the last dragon, as they navigate a world of elemental magic and political intrigue. The enemies-to-lovers romance was a slow burn, and while I usually like that, at times it felt like it was too slow. Still, I liked both main characters—Adara had a good balance of strength and vulnerability, and Einar was the classic broody protector type, which worked well.

World-Building & Pacing:
The world-building was detailed and vivid, and I could easily picture the settings. The pacing was solid for the most part, though there were moments where it dragged a little. That said, I was invested enough in the story that it never lost my attention completely.

Any Downsides?
A few plot points were predictable, and I wish some of the side characters had been fleshed out more. Also, while I liked the slow-burn romance, I feel like it could have moved just a little faster.

Final Thoughts:
I’d definitely recommend this audiobook to anyone who enjoys fantasy romance, especially if you like enemies-to-lovers and elemental magic. The narration was great, the story was engaging, and I will for sure continue with the series.

I think the book would be really great, if you read it your self, but man, the voice actors on this are pretty horrible. Specially the male voice. The woman’s voice I got use to and liked but the male voice just ruined the experience

I couldn't take it anymore, I tried telling myself it'll get better, but I made it to chapter 10.. it seems to be a popular book on booktok, maybe it's the narrator's lol but I cringed consistently listening to this.. I'll attempt to read the book but do not waste your money on the audiobook

I felt like I was watching a movie the readers did so welll!! The book itself was interesting and easy to follow!! Thank you for this. I can’t wait for the rest of the series.
