Publisher's Summary

The fifth book in the captivating series which follows the lives of Beth and Alex MacGregor, their family, and friends.

The rebellion is over. Prince Charles is in hiding, the Jacobite clans are scattered to the four winds, and in Inverness, the Duke of Cumberland plans a brutal retribution against the Highlanders who rose against his father. His intention: to ensure they can never rise again.

Alex, knowing Beth to be dead, leads his men into a vicious war of attrition against the British Redcoats, who have destroyed everything in life he ever held dear. Only his desire for revenge keeps him alive.

Meanwhile, the Duke of Cumberland is hatching a plan that he is confident will reveal the true identity of Sir Anthony Peters, the man who made a fool of the king, the duke, and all society. A man he wishes to capture alive, more than anyone else.

Join the continuing rebellion of the MacGregors and their fight for revenge and survival in The Jacobite Chronicles.

Really good historical fiction

I have totally enjoyed the story of Sir Anthony and Beth. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. However I am not happy with the change of female narrator. Although her performance was fine, change of voice and intonation in book 📖 5 not a great choice hence a lower rating

Different female voice

At this point I’m 4 books deep into the story. To hear the female voice change abruptly was very off putting. Although I’m sure she’s good, the attitudes and ways of speaking was thrown off. This changed characters that we have known and loved for four books.

Review of the Pursuit of Princes

Well needless to say, the story continues to be amazing, however, I was not too crazy about the change of the female voice, as I found it a little distracting, until I got used to her different voice cadences, however, Will’s voice was once again just perfect, so it lent itself to more continuity, and eventually I found myself wrapped up into the adventures in this novel, regardless! I felt like I was watching a movie!! Bravo! Now on to the final novel! Can hardly wait!!
