About this listen

FROM THE SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR OF LOST IN TIME

At CERN, a scientist has just made an incredible discovery—a breakthrough that may answer the deepest questions about human existence.

But what he's found is far more dangerous than he ever imagined.

Dr. Tyson Klein is a quantum physicist who has dedicated his entire life to his research. At CERN, he analyses data generated by the Large Hadron Collider, the world's biggest and most powerful particle accelerator. Now, Ty believes he's found a pattern in its output. It looks like an organised data stream, being broadcast over what he calls a quantum radio.

Could it be a signal from another universe? A message sent from the future? Or something else entirely?

As Ty peels back the layers of his discovery, he learns that what he's found isn't what he thought it was. The encoded message is far more profound. It may alter our understanding of human existence and the universe.

But Ty is not the only one looking for it. Someone has been following his research for a long time. And they'll do anything to prevent him from unravelling what is being broadcast by the quantum radio...

Because the first one to discover the truth may well control the future.

Intriguing concept; YA delivery

Decent AG Riddle book. Enjoyable enough if you look at it as a YA Title or ‘cozy SF’ offering. Listened to it with my 13yr old son on a road trip and we enjoyed it well enough. Sets up a series, but meh. Not sure the characters are compelling enough.

No Spoilers except to say I knew it

How timely is this novel. What is brilliant about this novel is the Agatha Christie like hints that seem insignificant but quickly become clues to the direction of the story. The writing and narration are excellent. I will be back for more.

Entertaining

Interesting in the usual ways A.G. Riddle writes. Not disappointing! Looking forward to reading more.

Very entertaining !!

Loved the cloke and dagger edge and then all of the scientific craziness, very entertaining.

Good start. Bad finish

The story started out well and really disappointed at the end. The main story was decent but the last couple chapters ruined it for me.

Very nice story and idea

The story, number of characters and phase is very well done. Some areas are a little simple but overall well done hope the series continues as it is called Book 1.

Interesting but self righteous

Interesting story idea, ruined by annoying self righteousness. Too bad, it had potential and I liked it at first but by I abandoned it 35 minutes early.

interesting idea that never really landed

Interesting idea for a book, lots of interesting ideas and a premise right up my alley as I am a sci-fi lover. However, there was no real character development and the story was surprisingly predictable. Overall I did enjoy the book but it did get a bit boring at times as it seemed to dwell too often on the characters personal problems rather than moving forward with the story.

interesting story, terrible writing execution

As usual Ray Porter is brilliant with unique character interpretation subtly added to his narration.

The story is one of intrigue and mystery that sell itself really well initially, but falls short in execution. Smart characters make irrational decisions and the plot moves forward sometimes in unsatisfying ways (don't want to spoil anything). I actually liked the ending a bit more than other reviewers here but hated the middle portion of the book, would not recommend.
