Mackenzie is used to being different from other kids - and to being bullied for not fitting into the rigid social expectations of her Catholic high school. Luckily, Mack's best friend Lila has her back so school isn't the total hell it could be. But it's pretty damn close.

I wish I liked the MC more. I have to say, I liked Beth and Lila and even Veronica a lot more. That said, at least Mac learned from her mistakes. Perhaps that's why she was the MC, honestly. She was the most flawed so had the greatest potential for a character arc.

First the narration by Chloe Cannon was excellent, she did a fantastic job of bringing the story to life. And QUEERLEADERS was great, i felt it showed that even in pretty sucky circumstances like being outed as gay, good things can happen, happy things, maybe kissing a girl, finding more confidence & maybe even finding a GF? i was a bit disappointed and surprised by negativity towards cheerleaders especially because Mack was attracted to them, but that was minor, overall a wonderful book.

I enjoyed this story so much as it reminded me of the struggles of coming up gay. The performer is amazing and writing is fabulous. Absolutely worth the buy.
