Indiana Jones Type of Adventure
This was a really good book with everything that we all loved from the Indiana Jones adventures. History, action, adventure, and mystery all rolled up into one book.
I read this without having read the first two Dane Maddock books, but I didn't feel lost at any point. There are a few references to the first two books, including the relationship between the two main characters, but the story was able to stand alone without needing the detailed descriptions of previous events.
Dane is called to assist an old friend when her significant other goes missing. Not only did he disappear under mysterious circumstances, but he left behind clues that may solve a centuries old mystery involving a lost city and a powerful artifact. However, powerful people will stop at nothing to solve this puzzle before they do...
The narration was solid, well-performed, and had the right tone and pace.
After listening to this book, I will almost certainly go back and listen to the first two AND continue with the rest of the series. Five stars all around!
I received a free copy of this audiobook from the author, publisher, or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review. I was NOT required to write a positive review and this reflects my honest opinion of the work.

A fast, fun adventure right up to the end
If you could sum up Quest: A Dane Maddock Adventure in three words, what would they be?
Rugged
Intriguing
Action
What did you like best about this story?
I thought it was neat that Doyle's The Lost World was part of the clue pattern, but I enjoyed most how the story progressed, building upon clues and findings that led to the lost city and its secrets.
Which character – as performed by Jeffrey Kafer – was your favorite?
Dane Maddock--he (Kafer) has the attitude and tone right on target.
Any additional comments?
Very much worth the listen.
It'd be okay to pick this one up even if you've not listened to any of the previous novels in the series. Even though references are made to previous adventures, they're not vital to know and are easily followed/understood within the context of the current novel (Quest), so it stands alone well.

A fun read
Any additional comments?
This was a really fun story, I couldn't stop listening until it had finished. As is usual for the Dane Maddock Adventures it is full of action and mystery. Great characters and good writing. A definite recommendation. Kafer does such a good job of bringing the characters to life.

Pretty much as expected ....
This is my second adventure with the dynamic duo of Maddock and Bonebreak ... and it was pretty much as expected. The basic story template with a handful of changes to keep it somewhat interesting and you have the recipe for some lightweight entertainment when that is what you are in the mood for. Stir in a few interesting conspiracies like the missing city of "Z" and a super bad guy organization on top of a little history, such as the punic war and the disappearance of an early British Explorer (Percy Fawcett), and you get just enjoy cognitive function to ward off complete boredom. Just enjoy and don't over think it.
I was given this free advance listener copy (ALC) audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Dane and Bones Never Disappoint
I truly enjoy the adventures of Dane Maddock and Bone Break. My son says their adventures have a "National Treasure' feel. We both love the humor and the fun predicaments Dane and Bones seem to find themselves in. This particular adventure has Dane and Bones helping the daughter of a former Military contact.
This adventure / mystery intrigues the duo who find themselves traveling to the Amazon and following the footsteps of a famous explorer Percy Faucett. Over course there is lots of humor, action and mystery.
Jeffery Kafer understands what makes this dynamic duo tick and it shows in his storytelling. I was not disappointed. With that said, this is the first time I've heard Kafer use accents (Engiish/British). I think it would have worked better, if he didn't, but it was an ok listening experience. This accent wasn't overly done, but every time an English speaking character was in the scene, I was reminded that this was new to my ears.
I received this audiobook free from FREEAUDIOBOOKCODES. My review is honest and voluntarily offered.
Mature Content: mild language, mild violence (no sex). I would rate this PG-13
