Publisher's Summary

With brand new material exclusive to this Updated American Edition, here - in his own words - is the story of the newest member of the Ultimate Fighting Championship Hall of Fame, Britain's own Rocky Balboa, Michael Bisping.

Featuring an entirely new chapter for US readers, the story of his induction into the UFC Hall of Fame, fresh insights about his fighting career, never-before-told stories about his film and TV career, and a harrowing account of his fighting off attempted kidnappers while filming in South Africa, Quitters Never Win tells the incredible story of how he went from rough and humble beginnings and then on to a legendary mixed martial arts career capped by winning the Middleweight Championship in one of the greatest upsets in UFC history.

Loaded with the humor and brutal honesty that first won him a following on the television show Ultimate Fighter 3, Bisping recounts his record setting 13-year fight career battling the likes of Anderson Silva, Georges St-Pierre, and Dan Henderson.

The most engaging UFC color analyst in recent memory, and a budding film and television star, Bisping tells his story in a way that only he knows how.

Great Story, Great account of Bisping's career

The narrator struggled to pernounce some names of the other fighters. A review would have been helpful

It’s good, he’s a true fighter

Only criticism is should have definitely been narrated by the man himself.. The narrator has a high class British accent that doesn’t have the street smarts and charisma of the author.. Other than that it’s a great mma book..

Narration wasn't my favorite

Would much have preferred the author reading the book. The narrator wasn't as invested and missed some of the pronunciations

Great story, insight, and feels

The story is amazing, the insight bisbing gives us on his career is awesome. The book needs a better reader.

Amazing book, not so amazing narration.

Would it have killed the narrator to listen to one Bisping interview? He sounds like a character from love on the spectrum...Lost all Bisping’s charm, really took away from how good of a book it is.

Meh

How does Bisbing go from running a successful podcast where people enjoy hearing his voice and takes to having some random narrate the book? completely ruined it for me. Don't recommend

Great Story, not a fan of Cowley

I fairly enjoyed Michael Bisping's retelling of his career in this book through his rose-colored lenses.

However the choice of using Jonathan Cowley was a mistake in my opinion, he does not capture the fighting spirit in his voice needed to retell Michael bisping's career. Not to mention the constant mispronunciation of words that distract from the story being told.

Good Book

Bisping's story is a good one. I think this would have been a 5 star review if Bisping himself had read the audiobook. The narrator does a decent job but lacks the passion & emotion that Bisping would have brought.

Best MMA of fight book yet.

The only reason I didn’t give the book a complete five star review is due to the fact I would have like Michael to read and narrate the book himself.

Awesome!

I loved that the story is true and gets so personal about his inner thoughts and emotions. I’d recommend it to everyone! As a younger MMA fan I hated Bisping. As I got older and watched more interviews and listen to his podcast I saw a different side of him and became a huge fan! Also helped that I grew up and wasn’t a stupid young kid anymore. Bisping is one of my favorite fighters of all time

I burned through this book in a couple days. The narrator was good, but I wish the author had narrated it, but I understand why he didn't.

Entertaining and surprisingly inspiring read/listen.

I remember my last minute purchase of the UFC Pay Per View of the Bisping vs. Rockhold championship card. It still happens to be one of my favorite moments in UFC History. At the time I was thrilled to see Bisping achieve his fighter ambition of UFC Gold, but am now even more inspired through the lens of a father at his plight to provide a better life for his wife and children. This book provides a lot of context as to the true nature of Michael Bisping, not what the false front bravado you get by watching him as a fighter and commentator on the screen. Thank you for putting out all vulnerabilities out there especially the Mark Coleman incident. I connected to this read on so many levels and am inspired to battle my own personal hurdles. “Conceive, Believe, Achieve, Shut the F**k Up”

A lot of respect to Bisping...

Around the World and Back Again

A deeper look at one man's struggles and triumphs both inside and outside the cage. Learn from him and be content with your own life. Sounds like the world has enough pain to go around. Michael took his share and continues to roll with the punches. Adapt or die, and this man adapts - in stunning fashion.

The Count in All His Glory

As a huge MMA fan, this book has been the best MMA biography I've read/listened to. Michael gives an insight into his life and how he came to be one of the great pioneers for the sport and UFC. His book holds back zero punches when it comes to: behind the scene conversations, injuries, personal struggles, and Vitor Belfort.

He may come off as a cocky, arrogant Brit in the cage to hype up fights as the villan, but this book shows 1) more of that side 2) the why behind that side, and 3) him as a man, husband, father, friend, and human being.

This is a great story and I consider myself an even bigger Bisping fan now... often getting emotional as he describes the emotional events as though you were standing in his shoes!

It is still a 5 Star review, but I believe I would have enjoyed it more so if he would have narrated it himself, however the narrator does an amazing job!
