Publisher's Summary

Princess or adventurer.

Duty or freedom.

Her Kingdom or the storm hunter she loves.

If Aurora knows anything, it's that choices have consequences. To set things right, she joins a growing revolution on the streets of Pavan.

In disguise as the rebel Roar, she puts her knowledge of the palace to use to aid the rebellion. But the Rage season is at its peak, and not a day passes without the skies raining down destruction. Yet these storms are different - they churn with darkness and attack with a will that's desperate and violent.

This feels like more than rage.

It feels like war.

love loyalty betrayal blood and magic!

this book has it all! I can't wait for the final book. I am glad Aurora is growing into her own strength, the storm Lord is very scary, full of trauma loathing and absolutely no feeling. Cassius as always been my dark Underdog favourite. and I absolutely enjoy the development of the hunters and all their characters. I really hope there will be a separate book just on the Fellowship of The Hunters LOL! totally worth the listen.

2nd book as good as the first!

I have listened to a lot of crappy audiobooks and it is always such a joy to come across of a little gem of a series like this one. Especially great if you are a taller female and want a protagonist you can identify with instead of wee helpless females. It has a good story and I'm very much looking forward to the third book.

The Lore Is Fantastic

I wasn't sure what to think of this series when I first started but it's becoming one to recommend to all my friends. The characters are great but the lore and world building are something I haven't really seen before and that's been exceptionally refreshing. Very well done. Highly recommend! Can't wait for the next book!

Loving it!

I have been swept along with the form of magic introduced in the story. The slow explanation of what and how it works is quite intriguing. The plot is typical and yet keeps me interested. Very much looking forward to listening to the next book. The narrator has been spectacular.

Just as good as the first

I listened nonstop to this sequel. I couldn’t believe it when I reached the end. The characters still have room to grow throughout the book, and it’s written in a way that makes you care about the secondary characters alongside the protagonists. August is a long time away, but there is no doubt that I will pick up the third book the day it’s released.

3.5 stars

I liked Roar better than Rage. This sequel is still a good book, but I find that not much happens, except for the last third of the book.

Aurora and the hunters are back in Pavan and Aurora wants to rescue the queen and Nova from the castle, but besides this rescue mission, not much happens for the first two-thirds of the book. Of course, there is drama with Kiran when he learns that Roar is in fact the "kidnapped" princess of Pavan (not enough drama in my opinion considering how huge of a revelation it is, I like drama and angst), but the rest of the book is about getting in touch with the resistance and waiting for them to organize everything.

The last 100 pages were great though, we get to see the Stormlord and Cassius again. We see once again that Cassius is not the greedy ruthless prince that Aurora thought he was in the first book, but honestly, with his obsession, I am surprised that [he simply accepted the fact that she would never marry him and that he decided to only be his loyal soldier instead.

Just as great as the first!

Sometimes, subsequent books in a series can be less exciting than the first book; but, not Rage! I loved it as much as the first, Roar.

I’m very sorry to find that the third book, Reign, won’t be out until 9 months from now….

An amazing world, with even better chatacters.

This is an amazing series. I actually wrote a review before this, but accidentally got it confused with a different series. Not because this one isn't memorable, just because I tapped the wrong part of the screen.

I very much loved this series, but it can be a lot. That said, I loved it enough anyway that I feel it deserves the stars I gave it.

Full disclosure, this is yet another series I listened to while not feeling well and therefore never reviewed. It is quite possible something in the story bothered me very much, but seeing as I'm only remembering it as a story I am loving so far, I feel it deserves the stars even if I had issues. At the end of the day, if a story grips you as hard as this one did me, and I'm left months upon months later with a positive opinion, and a deep internal fondness for it, then it's 5 stars in my book.

I loved the characters and even after all this time, still find myself thinking about some of them every now and again.

Fun and exciting sometimes a bit repetitive

This was fun, obviously I was hoping for some things to be different I wanted more tension in the love triangle and for the action to not be weighed down by the feeling like they were filling in blanks with inner monologue that wasn’t needed ….which may have helped my lower rating but also I found that the inner monologue of the characters repeated itself an annoying amount… otherwise I highly enjoyed this if it wasn’t for playing it at 3x the speed to get by parts I felt had been repeated to me over and over again it would be 5 stars. I would still recommend the world is fun and interesting and I think the next book will be great … maybe it’s just me but sometimes the second book in a trilogy is just lacking.
