Publisher's Summary

Rescued as a child by her grandpa, the powerful Vampire Malachi, Emma has been on the run for nearly 40 years from a Vamp determined to see them both dead. When he enlists the aid of assassins from the Vampire Council, their luck runs out. Forced to separate, Malachi sends Emma to a trusted VampLycan for protection.

Redson knows trouble when he sees it, and sure enough, the gorgeous, mostly human female seeking shelter immediately disrupts his future plans. His father swore a blood oath to her grandfather, and Red is honor bound to protect her. He’s surprised when his instincts demand so much more - protect...claim...mate.

Their attraction is explosive, but Emma refuses to consider mating while her grandfather is in danger. She needs Red’s help...but is he Malachi’s savior? Or his biggest threat yet?

My bestie and I listened to this with Audible and we want more! We want Pest and Frys stories! Couldn't wait until we could get together for the next book. Absolutely in 💘 with these books.

Fantastic

This is another great book. I just wish she would write faster !! The narrator she picked is perfect. She is able to do both female and male voices. I highly recommend this book

Spitfire

I have thoroughly enjoyed this book, heck I have enjoyed this whole series.
Yum alpha type males who only want to find and protect their mates, where do I sign up!
I loved Emma spirit she is a spitfire! Having grown up with a vampire for a grandfather ( who looks like her brother, kinda creepy if you ask me ) she hasn’t had a normal upbringing. They have been on the run for a long time so when the Vampire assassins come for them again and they were not prepared Emma had to run to Redson’s clan. ( She acted like it as an everyday thing, I would have peed my pants! )

Redson is duty bound to shelter Emma because of a blood oath his father had with her grandfather. ( No way in getting out of an oath like that, kinda glad I am just a plain ol' human ;) ) Redson isn’t happy about it but he would do whatever the blood oath said. What neither one of them expected was to fall for each other but when you know you know. ( Who wouldn't want to fall for a hunk like Redson.. just saying! )

Emma doesn’t back down at all and she isn’t willing to just let her grandfather ( why would she, he is more like a father to her )go so it is either you help or you get left behind. I loved this about her. What I liked best about Redson was how much he wanted to protect her but he had to learn that just because she is his doesn’t mean he gets to tell her what to do.

This book has all the heartfelt stuff I love and the action I crave. I have wanted to listen to this one since it came out but I have been saving it for my reading challenge. I NEED more books by this author. I cannot get enough of her writing. ( seriously if you haven't read a Larurann book what are you waiting for? ) Or the narration Savannah Richards is perfect and her male voice ( I swear it was duel narration! ) YES YES Please never change.

Loved it.

I rarely write written reviews for my books but felt this one deserved my comment. For those who love LD’s books and writing, this one is amazing. If you have not read the previous books, much may be missed. However, on its own it’s still great. Because I have listened and read all of her books so many times, I enjoyed this one even more. I had actually been holding off in case I was disappointed being this one is shorter. The consistency with the excellent narrator also is a reward. Thanks again LD.

This whole series is Dope!

Once you jump from one book to the next.... you kearn about the ongoing connections... the rules... the laws...and a different type of justice for each community. For once I really got that... World building feel. Its not a litrpg book at all... but from book to book... you get the lay out of things... like the locations of known communities... how one culture was created from two others and why, why some live where they do... how they grew up... society structure... inside fighting because some have superiority complexes...how they make money, get supplies, meet women ... Some old school living woth modern technology...Just a little bit of everything. The only thing I can say for sure that I did not like is all of the purest stuff aka racism. It is pretty thick throughout this series... and as you go along, you understand why, usually because they are scared of being outnumbered and have nothing to do but be miserable and once you get past that... you also understand some ppl are just... sink drain shafts. Nothing but germs and waste available there. And with all of that said... the romance... the love... the action... the humanism the females bring... the proctection, sacredness and honor the males bring... makes the drain shafts parts in this whole series worth your anger and some curse words lol.

loved It

I've listened to the story twice and I have enjoyed it both times. it is hard for me to find books that keep my attention and I have read all of this series, Some of the characters I like some I don't that is what makes these books so great that you can get into it and feel how these characters are feeling what is so great. so if you're into the supernatural and a different kind of Supernatural then this is the series for you. the whole series is wonderful it's a lot of action, lovemaking and Intrigue, with alot of Twist, spins and surprises

It just keeps getting better

I just finished this audiobook and am planning to listen to it again as soon as I submit this review. As with most of LD's book the MC's were very likeable and the H was amazing! So far this whole series has been awesome, and this book is no exception. (I didn't read Battina's book, I think I will despise her, but the rest was really good). I hope Malachi gets a second chance at love and his own book - hint, hint.

Good addition to series

This was a good addition to the series. I feel the series is getting a little repetitive. Emma is another strong female mate for the vamp-lycan Redson. The mostly human granddaughter raised by a vampire was interesting and well written. This relationship advanced the vampire council issue a little. And hearing from characters from the first two books was nice. Good narrator too.
