Story
After the destruction of the planet by Nomad, the final fight for the future comes to a staggering conclusion as Earth drops toward Saturn and Jessica Rollins must decide whether to save the ones she loves, or save the human race. Destiny is the fourth and final novel in a four-book saga that follows one family's fight to survive on a new Earth after a whole new category of disaster - all the more frightening as the science behind it was developed by a team of astrophysicists from CERN, SETI, and the Keck Observatory.

Story
Something big is coming...big enough to destroy the entire solar system...and it's heading straight for Earth. That's what Dr. Ben Rollins, head of Harvard's exoplanet research team, is told by NASA after being dragged out of bed in the middle of the night. His first instinct is to call his daughter and wife, who are vacationing in Italy: Something is coming, he tells them, a hundred times the mass of our sun. We can't see it, we don't know what it is, but it's there.

First two books in series not bad...
I like the first two books in this series but this one is horrible. Characters become jerks and stupid.

Complications
Lot of work went into the book, but the story line and purpose, still trying to figure it out. Female hero totally unbelievable. Like they threw spaghetti at the wall, trying to get something to stick.

Needs to pay for a female reader for women’s voices!!
All the women sound like men - making it
rather difficult to follow. Most of the men’s voices are between two different accents - again making it difficult to discern where they are or who is actually speaking.

NOT A SURVIVAL STORY
What would have made Resistance better?
Stop the dog gone conspiracy garbage
What was most disappointing about Matthew Mather and Lucas Bale ’s story?
They lost the chance to tell a good apocalypse survival story BUT RUINED IT by turning it into a EVIL GOVERNMENT CONSPIRACY story
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Resistance?
I would have reguired the author to go back and make it a survival story!
Any additional comments?
The whole series is falsely presented as a post apocalyptic survival story....it is no such thing. I FEEL REALLY CHEATED!!!

Lies, Deception, Subterfuge
I am really drawn into this whole story. The narration helps keep the flow going and helps the reader understand who is speaking even when their names aren't said. There is so much cultural and sociopolitical backlash that it really stirs up thoughts of what the world would really come to. Being a realist with little hope in humanity itself the reality painted so far makes sense even if it is sad and scary.

A guy named Ufuk? Seriously, "Ufuk"! Whyyyyy?
Could not get past the first scenes at all. Every stereotypical character characteristic and instant attraction action possible was tossed in--except for that ridiculous name.
What kind of writer uses such a pretentious (albeit a "foreigner") name for a major character? Does the writer expect the reader to read the entire book to find out why a character would have such a name, other than being other than American?
And then there are the stereotypes: he's brilliant, she's beautiful, her mother's beautiful. She's smart but she got herself into trouble being stupid about a boyfriend and a car. They are tourists but I guess because of their beauty they get pulled out of the crowd and treated like royalty just because some weird-named, rich or famous or something guy notices them...or something. Talk about pretentious writing. What the Ufuk indeed!

Enjoyable and fast moving but not as good as 1&2
Great narration and good story.
Some parts ran at bit slower and the plot became somewhat predictable.
I still say this is a must listen.

Ah OK, lots of action but disjointed.
I kept getting lost in this story or I would fall asleep. The book starts off in space then goes to earth. The book has plenty of action, end of the world, ashes coving the world. Only a few remain. But this story just doest fit together. So i give it a conflicted 3.
