About this listen
Maxx Reynolds needs help.
His shop, house, and life are all in a state of disarray.
In desperation, he turns to the internet to hire a new employee, thinking it will make his life easier.
What he expects is a fellow named Charly. What he gets is a quirky, sassy redhead named Charlynn who runs circles around him.
And she's all woman. He can't stand her. He can't keep his hands off her, either.
Contains mature themes.

Maxine Mitchell has a tone for male characters that I absolutely ADORE. (Though after listening to Ghosted by JM Darhower, where Maxine's tone for the male characters was absolute perfection, in my humble opinion, it's hard to totally refocus my brain to envision other characters with that voice.)
Both narrators were amazing in this, and thankfully sounded natural and no one over-enunciated even a little.
It's really refreshing to hear this story took place in Canada. Nothing wrong with American stories, but as a Canadian, it's nice to hear about a city closer to home and actually understand the distances of which they speak. (I bet the reference to "3 hours out of town" was measured with kilometres.)
Awesome performance

This audiobook stayed me! I already had the ebook (and the paperback) but this, this brought Maxx and Charlie to reality. Melanie Moreland gave us two characters that you can not help falling in love with. Maxx with his singular focus and Charlie with enough life and laughter for both of them. John Lane does an amazing job bringing Maxx to life, I wouldn't say Maxx is a total curmudgeon, but he's not far off. On the other hand Maxine Mitchell's Charlie is perfect! She gives us Charlie and if that part was written for her to narrate. Charlies quick banter and comebacks had me laughing and hearing her whip Maxx into shape, just perfect. This audio book is the perfect way to listen to this story!
