Publisher's Summary

He walked into school on his first day and owned it. I guess that's what happens when you're a prick, rich, and you're best friends with the ruling school's king. Also didn't hurt that he's drop-dead gorgeous.

That's all fine. I mean, I have nothing to do with them. I'm a loner, invisible, and that's how I wanted it to be. I was even proud of it, until I wasn't. Until I saw a girl kneel before him. Until I couldn't look away. Until he caught me watching.

His name is Blaise Devroe. My name is Aspen Monson. He only knew how to get, command, and demand attention. I knew how to do everything but that.

And this is our story.

Blaise and his girl

I love that there is an audible version of this book. Love the story. However the female narration is extremely bad. She can’t distinguish between characters...any of them. Absolutely bad. The male narrator was such a relief when he spoke. If not for him, I would have sent this back. Please Tijan, don’t ever use this female narrator again. This story is really good. Fell in love with Blaise and his girl. Fortunately I read the story and listened at same time (turning volume down really low when female narrator spoke and back up when the guy started speaking.

Loved parts of this book

In the beginning of the novel, the female character is a little strange and somethings are hard to understand, but it gets really good after the two characters hook up. The last chapter and the first epilogue are confusing. I still very much liked the book.

I couldn't finish this story!

The story is all over the place and doesn't make sense at times. I finally just gave up.

Don’t Listen To This Audiobook! Read It Instead.

I LOVE Tijan and was so excited for this novel. After enduring nearly 4 hours, I am calling it quits. The female narrator is HORRIBLE! Her male voices are absolutely terrible. She makes me cringe constantly. Her delivery of sarcasm and slang needs major work. It’s like having my mom read the book to me and she has no idea what she’s reading, and when she tries, it comes out all wrong. Honestly, after this rendition, I’m not even sure I like the book at all. Maybe I’ll read it someday, but not anytime soon. Who picks these narrators? Tijan had some awesome narrators in her previous books. What the heck happened?

A favorite

I don’t know how many times I have read this book now. From teens in love with competing life style choices and figuring it out to adulthood with the epilogue. So many emotions. I really enjoy the narrator as well. 18+

Part of the Fallen Crest/Crew world

But a completely stand alone story. It feature's Nate's sister if you are familiar with the Fallen crest series. It's a good story and as usual with Tijan more than meets the Eye with the MC. Narration is done well.

Now I have to read everything by Tijan!

Totally started this series out of order! now I know where all my spare money is going to go this month! Ms. Tijan writes compelling and honest characters. If I'd listened to some of the other comments I may not have read this book. This book is fantasy. The women aren't always strong and the men aren't always romantic. Wait a minute, that's what real life is like! Anyways, I read these books for escapism and this was a great escape!

YA Love story with mature content.

The love story of Aspen and Blaise has many layers to it. It begins their senior year in HS and continues though the college years and beyond. They slowly heal each other’s personal wounds on their journey together.
