Publisher's Summary

This audiobook features dramatized audio performances by a full cast–featuring some your favorite Riot voices!

Discover an epic tale of magic, revenge, and an empire on the verge of ruin in the first ever novel set in the blockbuster universe of League of Legends.

Camavor is a brutal land with a bloody legacy. Where the empire’s knights go, slaughter follows.

Kalista seeks to change that. When her young and narcissistic uncle, Viego, becomes king, she vows to temper his destructive instincts, as his loyal confidant, advisor, and military general. But her plans are thwarted when an assassin’s poisoned blade strikes Viego’s wife, Isolde, afflicting her with a malady for which there is no cure.

As Isolde’s condition worsens, Viego descends into madness and grief, threatening to drag Camavor down with him. Kalista makes a desperate gambit to save the kingdom: she searches for the long lost Blessed Isles, rumored to hold the queen’s salvation, if only Kalista can find them.

But corruption grows in the Blessed Isles’ capital, where a vengeful warden seeks to ensnare Kalista in his cruel machinations. She will be forced to choose between her loyalty to Viego and doing what she knows is right–for even in the face of utter darkness, one noble act can shine a light that saves the world.

So enthralling

I loved this book. I was not familiar with League of Legends game or other but it captured my interest immediately. Really like full cast. Would love if there was a follow up book

Many audiobooks unfinished but not this one!

I love the dark tones that Anthony Reynolds brings to the League of Legends universe. Like I said in the headline I have many unfinished audiobooks but this is not one of them. This was a masterpiece from beginning to end and I look forward to more of his works in the future including playing the MMO which is in development in which he is Lead Narrative Designer/Writer.

Good Story

I’m not into the League of Nations world so this was all new to me. I really enjoyed the story and like that it’s a one off book. Very easy listen and all the character voices were a great addition adding a lot to the story. After this I may have to check out the game.

Fantastic story for hardcore fans / newcomers

Very interesting plot throughout, doesn't feel like it ever slows down in a bad way. For League fans there's tons of service here, multiple characters you'd expect (With their original VA's voicing them) along with some surprising appearances and references. Fleshes out one of the most interesting areas of lore in a very expansive way.
Just a great fantasy novel, can't recommend it enough. I really hope this is the start of a normal thing for Riot, the cast really brought it home and keeps you invested.

Speechless

There are no words that can say just how fully this world was brought to life. Not listening to this masterpiece, is a mistake.

honestly the best audio book I've listened to. each character is independently voiced by the actual voices of the characters. the story itself it pretty great and I can't wait until more of these are released

Cool concept that didn't deliver

First off, having 250 different voice actors does not make this better. I play league and the really only cool voice was hecrim. How ever I'm totally fine with one/two people to do this like normal audio books.

Onto the story, it was a good story but fairly basic with very little to grasp on to. No twists, no turns just a straight line of minions going towards the nexus. What I found was really weird is the story is basic, the lines, world, character development is all super basic yet some of the words in the book are university professor level. Many times I had to rewind the story to hear a word only to have to look it up to find out its definition. I'm not a person who believes big or hard words have no place in books as there is times when an unual or higher level (uncommon) word is the best fit for the authors vision. But with this book, there was nothing complex about it.

All in all not a bad read but nothing ground breaking or even soil turning in this one.
