À propos de cet audio
Is it really wrong to want to murder your boss?
Dylan has worked for Gabe for two years. Two long years of sarcastic comments. Two long years of insults, and having to redo the coffee pot four times in the mornings to meet his exacting standards.
Not surprisingly he has devoted a lot of time to increasingly inventive ways to murder Gabe. From stabbing him with a cake fork, to garrotting him with his expensive tie, Dylan has thought of everything.
However, a chance encounter opens his eyes to the attraction that has always lain between them, concealed by the layers of antipathy. There are only two problems - Gabe is still a bastard, and he makes wedding planners look like hardened pessimists.
But what happens when Dylan starts to see the real Gabe? What happens when he starts to fall in love with the warm, wary man that he sees glimpses of as the days pass?
Because Gabe is still the same commitment shy, cold man that he’s always been, or is he? Has Dylan had the same effect on Gabe, and has his solid gold rule of no commitment finally been broken? With his heart taken Dylan desperately needs to know, but will he get hurt trying to find the answers?
From the author of The Summer of Us comes another scorchingly hot romantic comedy, showing what happens between two men when rules get broken.
©2017 Lily Morton (P)2019 Lily MortonWhat I had difficulty with, was the amount of angst and the how long it went on for. I also didn't like Gabe's philandering through the beginning.
The narration is absolutely amazing. Joel Leslie is truly one to be admired for his ability to give each character a new voice, new inflection, and new personality. He's a joy to listen to.
Overall, this was an enjoyable listen. I will listen to it again, and have already bought the next audiobooks in the series.
Great Listen

There’s humor, badly made coffee, snarky emails, toxic exes, good friends on both sides (Jude and Henry appear in subsequent Mixed Messages books), angst, and then finally, a satisfying HEA.
Joel Leslie is, as always, a brilliant narrator, and Lily Morton is a born story teller. She brings so much of England to life for me, and gives us a glimpse of the wild beauty of the sea cost in Devon.
Absolutely goes on my list of books to revisit.
Dylan and Gabe’s love is mesmerizing

Gabe, the bastard of a boss who is cold and dates men who are vacuous. He doesn’t do feelings and is certainly not pedestrian enough to want to settle down and find love. But he’s met his match in the endlessly snarky and compassionate Dylan. His assistant gives as good as he gets.
You want to hate Gabe and his treatment of Dylan, constantly pulling him and then pushing him away. But it is clearly evident that Gabe is a tortured soul, terrified of emotions, and of the pain it can bring.
In a story that will make you laugh and cringe, will also make you cry and swoon in equal measure. I was getting looks on the train home as I laughed along, and more looks at work as I cried through other scenes. So word to wise, be careful if listening out in public!
I loved the ups and downs, drawing you in and then making you want to yell at someone. And the friends and family in this are incredible, best friends Jude and Henry, and Dylan’s family, they all played such a wonderful role in helping these two figure themselves out.
Joel Leslie was perfect as the narrator of this book.
